It works!
During the spring and summer, when I hear scratching inside my walls, I just plug this into the affected wall and within the hour (and throughout the night - seems these animals are nocturnal) I have quiet. If you can put it on the other side of the wall outside the room you are in, so you can't hear the sound, you'll like using this device. I liked this so much I bought a second one!Update Jun 3 2014:I got an extra one of these about a week ago. I've tested it out on both sides of my garage and I haven't seen any squirrels since I put the second one in one the opposite wall. They cost about 15 bucks (up from 12 a week ago). I have two of them working in tandem on the garage and, interestingly enough, they have also stopped the nocturnal squirrel traffic over my bedroom this spring...so far.Update July 03 2014One month later I can say this has worked remarkably well. No more squirrels running under the roof tiles. Highly recommended.

It works but the noise is annoying!
I've been using it for 6 months now and it's been working fine. The only (really) down side is the high pitch noise that it makes. Since it's in the garage, It's bearable, but it gets really annoying if I have to spend an extended period of time in the garage. I usually unplug it temporarily.

We had a single rat in our apartment and this device did not work to get him/her out! Had to resort to a zap trap, ultimately.

Solution for Mouse Problem!!!
I had a mouse problem so I bought the Rid Rite Pest Repeller with a Night Light and placed it in my hallway. In 48 hours I noticed that the problem was over - there were no more mice to be seen in my home. This unit has the added benefit of a night light which lit up the immediate area. The unit is quiet and works effectively. The best part is no poisons to deal with as I have children and pets in the home also.
