The boat hook pole is long and can reach 12 feet. Fully extended it is still sturdy and the three locks hold strong. It is well made and is very light weight. On our pontoon boat, I’ve used it for many grabs and pushes. Then this winter I put the boat in storage and took the pole home. WOW, I use it for all kinds of tasks; pushing and pulling items into and out of the storage loft, pulling stuff out of the back of my truck, and any other task where long reach is needed. I am buying a second pole to keep at the house.

We are keeping this boat hook in our pontoon boat for use in retrieving fishing bottles. This boat hook has a multitude of use though. We encountered a sudden storm today while on the lake. We ended up taking refuge under a bridge and we used the boat hook to keep our boat against the bridge structure. It can be used for reaching a drowning victim without risking your own life. Hooking a dock pole to pull yourself towards your slip. Prevents banging against the dock with the pole instead of breaking your arm or leg. It is made of heavy-duty aluminum. Telescopic up to like 12 feet.

I am a Bait Trap Fishermen and some times the water falls out and this hook helps me hook the rope and pull it to the boat. I may buy a few more for backup.

I, tragically, cannot post a picture of this tool, as it's currently under several feet of boggy water. There are a few things to note. The locks actually slide neatly and are moderately secure under light loads (IE, 20ish pounds). But there are two notable deficits that contribute to the 1-star review. 1) The boat hook itself is not durable, at all. Small impacts broke the tip under light-duty use (like, just hitting up against rocks and the like) 2) *It doesn't float.* Anything with "boat" in the term that isn't an engine part should float (this includes things like oars). This definitely doesn't float. If it floated, it'd be a 3-star review.
