Vitos Extra Super Shaving Soap, 1 kg

A fantastic croap (cream soap). It smells like marzipan in the box but very little scent when you actually whip it up. As it's soft like a piece of putty, I placed a small pea sized amount (0.25gr as weighed on accurate digital scales) into a shaving bowl, wetted my Yaqi synthetic brush, shook the drops off and proceeded to whip up a fantastic lather in no time at all. The lather holds its form well and does not thin, even after leaving to stand for 10 minutes. A quick swirl in the bowl and and it's a thick soft meringue. Enough for three or more passes. It feels slick and the razor (Edwin Jagger DE89 Kelvin) glided over the skin.The block received, weighed slightly over 1,000gr, so at the rate of 0.25gr per bowl lather, it's going to take me over 4,000 days (nearly 11 years) to get through the block. So, for the price per shave, it's a no brainer.

I’m very happy with this product. It lathers nicely enabling me to have a close shave. Would recommend.

Up until now I've been using Arko soap stick. It's not bad. I would rub the stick over my wet beard and lather up with a brush. This Vitos is better. I used the wife's empty Nivea tub with a screw-on lid. I filled the tub with Vitos, which has the consistency of fresh putty, and I simply touch my damp brush on it and lather directly on the face.The bulk of the shaving soap I keep in a tightly sealed bag to prevent drying, and the soap in use is kept from drying by the aforementioned tightly screwing lid.It's the putty-like consistency that I like most. It takes the effort out of shaving. I always hated using hard shaving soap in a bowl with a silly lid that I couldn't get off with wet hands. I was never able to get a lather.If you shave every day using Vitos then we are talking about £1 per year.EDIT:This soap is advertised as 1 Kilogram. The box says 1 Litre. The seller needs to know the difference.I weighed the soap and it is 890 grams.

This is a low price and while lots like it, I found it didn't give a creamy, protective lather. A strange texture which can't even be used as bath soap!
