Overpriced !!!!
I regretted purchasing thisHi-Fi Racks Podium Slimline -for an extra three hundred pounds I could have had the Hi-Fi Racks Podium Reference whichlooks far superior.I am very disappointed withthe Hi-Fi Racks Podium Slimlineand wish I could sell this andpurchase a Hi-Fi Racks Podium Reference instead.Mr. Jones 🏉

Bought years ago - still looks great
I bought this to match a bunch of other oak furniture in our living room, and this fits the bill perfectly. So perfectly in fact that I ended up buying matching speaker stands! Warning, this can get expensive - but it's so worth it. They're bulletproof, take abuse and are perfect for isolating sound (my Rega turntable sits on top and I hear nothing when walking near it nor from the speakers when they're turned up). It's a bit of a project to assemble - and once assembled - don't even think of taking it apart!

Assembly problems because of inadequate QC. Expensive for what it is, otherwise OK.
Flatpack item, which is fine as such. Shelves made of blocked up oak, not butted boards. Held together by threaded rods that screw into captive nuts. As is often the case with this sort of fixing, the parts are crudely machined and neither end one of my bolts would not screw into any of the nuts; I wasted ½ hour trying but eventually gave up. That gave me a problem as I had hi-fi that I wanted to use ready to stack, so I made a temporary fix using a long dowel and advised Analogue Seduction who said that they would ask the makers for another bolt, which will get to me eventually I imagine, whence I will need to demount all the kit and then unmake and remake the rack, wasting another ½ hour. Why do not the makers such kit supply a spare bolt as standard? Why do they not supply a loose nut that one might try to use as a die to clean up any dodgy threads (as I have done in the past with other furniture)? Why do they not tell one the the thread size and type so that one can whip down a hardware store rather than waiting a week or more for a spare bolt?Poor QC and time-wasted apart, what do I think? It serves the purpose and looks quite neat, whereas many modern racks look heavy and clumsy. Is it worth £349? No, not in my view; £250 max.. With the time wasting £200.

Stunning quality, well made, reasuringly expensive
I purchased the twin shelf podium reference large from Hi-Fi Racks direct in gloss black along with the stainless steel spikes for both upper and lower shelf legs for the total price of £588 including delivery.Delivery time from the day of order was just over 4 weeks. The packaging was substantial and protected the real oak shelving perfectly. It is very well made, heavy and very sturdy.I can honestly say that I did notice a more neutral sound from my equipment using this stand instead of metal and glass stands.Yes it is very expensive but if you take into account the price of the equipment that it is designed to hold then it's cheap.Highly recommended if your initial outlay for equipment allows a purchase of one of these, if you are using budget equipment then one of these would be a waste of money unless you love the look of a real oak Hi-Fi stand.
