About the Author A lifetime member of the Pioneers of Alaska, Rose Rybachek served as editor of The Alaska Miner, was a columnist for the Fairbanks Daily News Miner and the All Alaska Weekly, served as President of the Alaska State PTA and the Alaska Miner's Association and has been a licensed ham for 50 years.

I really enjoyed the history of this book - definitely worth reading. The true adventure of this family was completely amazing!!

Fabulous
This is delightful. Rose has a marvellous way of describing things and proves that truth is much better than fiction. I loved her remarks on ham radio. The life she lived at the mine was amazing. I could not have done it. I admire her very much. The book is excellent.
