Exactly what I need
If you’ve ever tried to find the right guitar string you know exactly how difficult it is. This is the string for your acoustic. It’s warm. It’s crisp. It LASTS and keeps tone for much longer than some other brands. Better get it costs less than most other places you buy your strings. I play a lot of rhythm and prefer the medium lights for that bigger low end.

Nice feel; great sound
Light gauge strings that have a nice feel and clean sound on my Ovation Matrix. Trebles are clear and bright but not overpowering; bass is clear and little subdued. Not at all "tinny" like my earlier Martin Marquis medium gauge strings. I really like these and would recommend them. NOTE: As discussed with a friend of mine who is a professional, it's best to try different string brands and models to best suit your instrument and style of play. I will be replacing the strings on my other folk guitar (Takamine) with a medium light set and expect to to be happy with that setup.

Good Strings
These are good strings. Easy to install and tune. Keep their tune very well. I think the lower sound is not as full as I would like, hence the 4 star rating.

I thought Elixir's were all hype; I was wrong!
I've been playing acoustic and electric guitar for 27 years and primarily used Martin Phos Bronze. I tried Elixir's a long time ago and didn't notice a difference. My son convinced me to try them again. WOW! My handmade Alvarez Yairi now sounds like a very expensive Taylor. The clarity and brilliance are gorgeous and they seem to be maintaining there quality of sound much longer than the Martin's I used to use. Even with the coating fraying near the soundhole from the pick, they still sound new after a couple months. I'll probably change them soon to see if I've lost any quality as the degrade in strings is slow overtime and usually less noticeable until a new set is put on the guitar. Probably going to switch permanently to Elixirs. I wish they were a little cheaper as I like to keep my strings fresh. However, if the sound quality lasts longer than maybe it's a wash money wise.

Added to my new mahogany Takamine dreadnot. 100% worth it.
Look factory strings really are garbage I beg you to not even bother tuning them up when you get your acoustic with the factory strings on it … get yourself a nice set of strings that gets the most from your guitar … that’s what elixir does. It really woke up my new Takamine mahogany dreadnot that had absolute Jawa quality strings on it when it came from the factory “OOOOTeeeeeeenie! “. There’s just no point in having a guitar with such poor strings… it will never feel good or sound right… let alone will you get the most out of the guitars potential without it the proper types of strings on it . The tension is great, no rust issues, these elixirs perform and hold their tune very well. All of this for about $16 you really cannot beat it for the money. If you want to have an acoustic around with junky strings and never really enjoy playing when you get a chance…that’s your own issue. I on the other hand am different and want to enjoy the time when I do get a chance to pick up my acoustic and play. Elixir strings from my experience in the past have lasted the longest compared to other brands and are incredible value for the money.

Meu pódio seria então: Elixir > Martin Authentic > Tagima Resonance Pro > D'Addario EJ16 > SG Coated. Todas 0.12 Fosforo bronze.
