Description says either 1095 or 5160 how do you tell the difference?** A: It's 1095 high carbon steel. Ontario's Rd-6 model is in 5160. Also you can get Rat 7 special custom from Ontario directly in D-2 tool steel. **Q: It says the handle is 5”. If I bought some handle scale blanks that were 5” to make my knife custom, would they fit?** A: Yes, my G10 scales from The Knife Connection are 4.9" at the longest point and 1.7" wide at the handguard.
