Jamican Dogwood - Piscidia piscipula is also commonly named Florida fishpoison tree or fishfuddle. It is a medium-sized, deciduous, tropical tree endemic to southern Florida, the Florida Keys. Texas, the Carribbean and Latin America. It was discovered by Native Americans of the West Indies that extracts from the tree could sedate fish allowing them to be caught by hand which led to the tree's other common names fishpoison and fishfuddle. The tree has medicinal value as an analgesic and sedative. Jamaican Dogwood can be toxic and therefore should only be used under direction of a doctor or qualified herbal practitioner. It has been used in herbal medicine for treating nervous conditions and pain 100ml 1:2 Alcohol Volume 45%. Take 10 - 15 drops 2 x daily.
