Product Description Live [liv, verb] was recorded, uh, live [liv, adj. Or adv.] at Largo on August 3rd, 2012 at her monthly show, Tig Has Friends. The day before this set, Tig was diagnosed with cancer in both breasts. This news was the bookend to an agonizing year in which Tig spent weeks in the hospital battling an intestinal bacterial infection. A week after being released from the hospital, her mother unexpectedly died. Then, in the middle of it all, her relationship fell apart. Which leads US here. Tig's 30 minute set is not much more than an open-mic set in that it's half scripted, raw and real.

I can't recommend Tig Notaro highly enough if you like absolute dead pan, dry humour. In this legendary set she somehow combines heartbreak and trauma with humour for a one off set.

Outstanding
This is truly a performance for the ages. Dark as hell, but extremely funny.

Live, as in, rhymes with give. Not live (rhymes with hive).
She has cancer, her girlfriend dumped her, and, her Mum has just died. It's hilarious. Don't believe me?..... Then buy it, or, ask Louis C.K.

Fabulous stand-up set
Honestly one of the most touching, hilarious and life-affirming stand-up albums I've ever heard. (And I've listened to hundreds.)Tig's honesty and mastery of the craft work in tandem to make this a truly memorable performance. I defy you to listen to this and not a) laugh and b) be moved.

Interesting - not for casual listening
I came and bought this because I read the plug on Louis C.K.'s website and I was intrigued. I could not imagine how something this tragic could be funny and I must say - it wasn't, for me anyway. It was emotional and it was interesting but the reality of the situation does not make for easy listening. The person you are listening to has had a terrible life downturn and one cannot help but empathize and feel sad.The humour is understandably subdued - throughout, the audience's laughter seems (to me) jarring and out of place; it starts mildly strong and fizzles as things progress. Don't expect to roll on the floor laughing or anything. You may not even crack a smile.
