It is a great little machine that produces ice within about 6-8 minutes to produce ice. I would purchase from this company again. It worked fine for a couple of months, but unfortunately it started giving messages that it was out of water, when it wasn't and the ice machine stopped working. I contacted customer support through email, and called them. I spoke with a woman who asked me a few questions, and made a few suggestions, which ended up not working, but the kindness and customer service was awesome. They sent me a new icemaker and it came within 4 or 5 days (Came from California). Thanks for great customer support! Update: After receiving the replacement, it work pretty well for a few months. Then the second one stopped working. I have now had two in less than a year stop working. At this time, I would not recommend purchasing the Igloo 33lb option. I also noticed in some other reviews when I look deeper into them, that a few people experienced the same issue with this model. I believe there is some kind of defect, so I would wait, or purchase another brand. I should have invested more money into a better model, was wanted to keep it within affordability. I ended up investing almost $200 and now on my 3rd icemaker in less than a year. I didn't bother contacting the company again, because it is a hassle for me to return it. I am a senior with mobility issues. I would guess they include a plug to put in the hole when you are not draining it. **Q: i want to be able to fill my big ice chest in the morning before i go to work. will this machine put enough ice into the basket for this?** A: That really depends on the size of your big ice chest. In practice, I've found that this basket holds just under a pound of ice before the sensor gets blocked and shuts it down. It will hold about 1.5 pounds if you shake the basket and level out the ice. Dump the ice into something else every hour, or so, and you will have plenty of ice to fill most work coolers. **Q: Is this something you keep plugged in or only when you use it? Hope this isnt a stupid question** A: Not a stupid question at all! I do leave mine plugged in for several days at the time when I need it extra ice for company or just to fill a bag too have on hand. I unplug it when I don’t need it and wipe it out. I’ve had no problems unplugging it or just leaving it plugged in. Hope this help! **Q: Is this ice maker suppose to be loud like a bearing going out when it is running?** A: Ours has some what I would consider non-disturbing fan noise but not squeaky or anything like that. It makes great ice very efficiently. We bought this machine for extra ice during my husband's recovery from knee surgery. I had doubts about whether the machine would make the amount of ice the manufacturer claims. But it does! The machine also signals when the tray is full or when it needs water. We now use the machine to supplement our fridge's ice production. It has worked (even been over-worked) consistently for over two years. While you do hear the machine running, it is not overly loud.
