You would generally install one OS to one SD so you can create as many different instances of operating systems on different cards as you want. If you want to have your SBC and HDD/SDD in compact package, you have to wrap a bit around your case. On the con side - assembly instruction is a bit obscure and I had some troubles with ejecting microsd card when board is in enclosure.
