Feels sturdy, the steel is thick and nice
We used the pot last night to boil pasta. It is a very high quality build. Feels sturdy, the steel is thick and nice. It boils ridiculously quickly. The size is just right for us, a bit bigger than a stock pot that a relative gave us, and so better for larger soups and projects. The one draw back is that the strainer/steamer sits kind of high in the pot, so you'd have to use twice as much water to boil the pasta in and pull it out, which would increase the time to boil, negating the point of the pot.

Well water that NEVER boils Did
I have well water that never really comes to a full boil. With this turbo pot it boils in less than 10 minutes and after I added pasta it came to a rapid boil again. I am planning on ordering at least one additional smaller size.

Faster, but...
The good: I did a head to head water test between this and our old Calphalon pot. Same burner, same amounts of water, uncovered. No question: this pot boiled faster. It was more that five minutes faster on an 7Qt boil. The Bad: The insert is terrible for pasta. It is very shallow (no where near the bottom of the pot). This means I have to use WAY more water. More water means longer boil time. There went all the time savings.

Excellent
It does what it says. The fins on the bottom collect the heat, and it heats up the water much faster than my Caphalon Anodized Aluminum stock pot. The lid has a nice handle on it as well, and the product seems pretty sturdily made. I have had one for about 6 months , with no problems using it at least once a week.I have had it about 2 years now, and yes the fins are durable. A commenter asked how long it takes to boil water for pasta. It all depends on how much water you have and how powerful a burner you have. When I first got my turbo pot, I tested it against a similar sized pot and found that the water boiled about 25% faster in the turbo pot that in the other pot.

Love it
I bought this mostly to steam veggies. It heats up quickly, it's sturdy and I use it every chance I can. I highly recommend this Multi-Pot.

Great for efficiency, but pits easily.
Great for efficiency, but pits easily. Wish the stainless steel was better quality.
