Pull up Assistance
I am over 6 feet tall and weigh 215 pounds. Before purchasing this tool, I was able to do around 8-10 pull ups my first set, 6 my second set and then 3-4 my third set without any assistance. While I found I was making gains in other areas of strength training with lifting 4-5 times per week or doing programs like P90x or Body Beast, I felt that I did the same number of pull ups every time I worked out. I have used a chair before, but I felt it was too easy to cheat using your legs.I bought this to help me do extra pull ups after I couldn't do any without assistance. At my weight, the assistance helps, but it still requires you to do a lot of work. After I can't do any unassisted pull ups, I can usually do an additional 3-6 pull ups with the assistance band, but then it is not strong enough and if I want to do more I will have to place a chair under my other leg. I have it set at its shortest length for maximum assistance. This is much better than using a chair, as you cannot cheat as much, however I wish it provided more assistance at times.I have only used it for 2 weeks, so I cannot comment on if it has improved the number of unassisted pull ups I can do, but I believe it should help as every time I do pull ups I am pushing my muscles more. After another few months of use I will try to update my review on if it actually helped my muscle gains. If you weigh over 200 pounds and cannot do a single pull up, you may not be able to do a pull up or only a few pull ups with this band.Others in this situation have commented about buying 2 to help. It's easy to use, adjust and store.

Helps an old dog do new tricks
For 66 I'm in not-bad shape, but chin-ups have eluded me. The pull up assist band has been great in helping me finally start getting somewhere with it. Yeah, it's a bit of a cheat, but by being able to do pull-ups/chin-ups even with this "helping tool", I'm gradually increasing my strength, and I'm closer to being able to do it on my own.The materials are quality, and I feel secure using it--not worried that it's going to suddenly snap in my face or leave me in a heap on the floor. It comes with a nice carry bag. I'm deducting one star because it had zero instructions on how to set it up. (If you have found my review helpful, I'd really appreciate if you would click the "Helpful" button. Thanks so much for reading! Liz)

Won’t stay adjusted
I think I got a defective one, I adjust the strap and when I put my foot in and put weight on it the strap loosens to the ground, the clip looks like it was put in backwards so it’s not keeping the fabric locked down. It’s not like I am too heavy for it either, I am 5’3 and weigh 155lbs. I am totally bummed I was looking forward to using this instead of a chair.

Better off just doing pull downs until you can do pull-ups
Hard to adjust. Hard to get in and out of. Bands rub against your skin. Awkward product. Bought it do dropsets on pull-ups but it just sits in the closet

Very weak bands
I’m 230lbs, this didn’t offer ANY assistance with my pull ups and chin up.The bands are too weak, they were stretched almost to a breaking point and still were providing any assistance. Maybe if you are a child and weigh 40-50lbs they may help. I feel like I just wasted $30. I did.

Great chin-up assist tool
This pull-up assist band was exactly what I was looking for to go along with the Beachbody Hammer and Chisel program that I am doing. It is working great and easily slides off to the side or unclips when not in use.

Great addition to our fitness gear!
This has been a great addition to our fitness equipment. I can do a few chin-ups but this assist allows me to get more reps in after I'm exhausted doing them with my full weight. It's definitely helping me get stronger! Our whole family uses it (myself, husband, child). It's super adjustable and easy to use.

Scrapes up the body, not the best quality.
It broke today after three years of very light use. Used it about once every six months. I’m 120 lbs. would have expected it to last longer. Also, the plastic part always scraped along my body leaving scratches.
