Realy enjoyed this old school War movie

Groundbreaking in its time, this war film is looking a bit dated now. But it is a fair attempt to show the war with the Japanese in Burma, when the allied forces were fighting back after being swept out by the initial onslaught of the army of Japan. Merril's Marauders fought a hard campaign, mostly a battle with the jungle and often outnumbered by the Japanese, as a long range penetration unit (based on the British special unit the Chindits) of 3000 volunteers. Not really a classic but worth a look for war enthusiasts.

Rented to watch at a friend's house as. I have it on DVD and they hadn't seen it before.

This is a very good fact based film.

I FIND IT AMAZING THAT HUMAN BEINGS CAN ENDURE SUCH HARDSHIPS ! THE DEDICATION SHOWN TELLS ME THESE BRAVE MEN REALLY BELIEVED IN THEIR CAUSE !
