TACLIGHT T1100 TACTICAL FLASHLIGHT KIT

As I've seen masses of adverts for this torch all over the internet thought I'd do a review:-)This is a very nice, powerful,, made of metal torch. Approx. 51/2" (14cm) it feels nice and solid in the hand, easy to grip and with a wrist strap to help ensure that one doesn't lose it. Comes in a fairly cheap plastic box that while difficult to refasten once opened due to being flimsy, contains all that one needs to recharge the torches battery from both USB and from the mains. To support mains charging there is a separate Type G 3 pin adapter supplied.In use the beam appears to be all thats claimed. On/Off is via an orange switch in the torch base. Once switched on a gentle press on the same button cycles through the 5 modes : High, Med, Low, Strobe, SOS and then back to High. The beam is zoomed by moving the front lens cover forward or back to un zoom. The beam goes from round to square once maximum zoomed.It seems to be a very nice torch, so why only three stars? Well it's the price! I bought a very similar torch which came with the same rechargeable battery in the same type of box with recharging kit for £15 as opposed to £49. It's made of the same metal as far as I can tell, it's the same size, works the same and has the same body and the same markings. The only difference seems to be in the beam strength. What is also causing concern is I also have several small torches from the same company, same orange button, metal etc. bought here on Amazon for £1.98. somewhat less than half the size so one would expect a price difference but £40 odd? Especially as when both on full power I can still see the square zoomed light from the smaller torch within the light of the supposedly massively brighter one.Decided to return the torch and I have to say very impressed with the way bestbuy_4needs handled things. No quibbles, which has not always been my experience with 3rd party sellers, and cash refunded quickly, impressed and would use again.

a very good flashlight for the size but the battery charger is tacky it lets kit down

Iv'e given this 3 stars and knocked 2 stars off for 2 little gripes.1: The battery charger is awful and just isn't good enough.2: The price of this thing is £49.99 here on Amazon but if you shop around you will get a better deal on eBay or wherever. I paid £15 for mine on eBay.The torch itself is very well built and is very bright and a little brighter than the older Cree T6.The Battery is about 40 grams which is good for an 18650 but any less than 35 grams would be cheap and nasty but this one is ok.The plastic case is cheap and nasty but everything is in there and keeps it safe in transport from China.Yes! They are made in China and there are many who brand these with different names but if you do buy one elsewhere then please check you are actually buying the one with the XM-L2 LED and not just the T6.I would have liked to give this 5 stars but really I couldn't because these are grossly overpriced and you will get one with probably a different brand and just as good if not better with more accessories like a bike bracket.There is one make called "Ledeak" and these are just the same and a lot cheaper and also have a green plastic case but everything is identical but the "Ledeak" has a better charger and a better battery and a bike bracket.Overall they are a good torch but you can find one cheaper if you shop around and if you want to wait for one from China then go on eBay and get one from China for a remarkable price and you will be amazed.There is one more thing and that is you have to ignore all the false information about the LUMENS.This one says 1100Lumens and others will say anything up to 20000Lumens and even the Sun cannot produce that much light on a clear day.These must be about 500Lumens I would say and that is bright so do not believe the sellers who say anything above 500Lumens.This company is from Leicestershire and is in Coalville and I actually live only a stones throw away and I know they are a Chinese company in Leicestershire and please believe me when I say you are paying far too much for these and it is a rip-off.
