Works great
For systems administrators who CAC into multiple machines daily, it’s a good idea. My CAC stays on me. That said you got to get used to being leashed or it busts. This is my second SGT119: the previous one’s retractable cable snapped broke when I walked away from a desk. Regardless, I and my most of coworkers use these. Works on anything SHB. I preferred the USB A only model, however with the adapter I can connect to my Android phone. Phone installs driver and I’ve installed some apps but I don’t have a need for it on my phone.

Nice idea but heavy
Love the idea here. The down side is product weight. It feels a bit heavy when wearing. For someone who mostly sits at a desk all day and needs a convenient way to handle authentication with a Smart Card to a USB-C equipped device...this product is great. Travelers may prefer one of the fold-out card reader options that provide easier portability. Worked great, plug n play, out-of-the-box with my 2018 MacBook Pro running 10.14 Mojave with OpenSC installed.

Doesn't work right out of the box for Mac Moajve
It doesn't work out right out of the box for Mac OS Mojave. I didn't haven't the time to go through militarycaccard.com's extensive instructions, so I am going back to the old reader that works. I use PK Card by Thursby as the CAC enabler, but it shows the reader, just not the CAC.It may work after hours and hours of installation, but I admit, I can't devote the time.

Awesome
I bought this so I could use my Surface Pro in tablet mode and stay mobile at the office. Great for meetings

Helpful with R2S
I bought this CAC reader because I had to update my phone and my Navy R2S reader wouldn't work on my new phone. I decided that I didn't want to blow money on a replacement R2S reader so I purchased this. I like that I can plug it into both my PC computer as well as my cell phone. The extendable chord is also pretty convenient and it makes it tidier to travel. Helpful overall and I haven't had any really bad experiences with it. Would recommend for DoD military or civilians.

Good reader but could use some improvements
The connection from the cord to the USB connector is weak and was starting to expose the wire with only light or moderate use. I had to wrap it in electrical tape to cover the exposed wire and strengthen the connection.

A little heavy and cord frays.
Like the device however it’s a bit heavy to hang around the neck and the cord frays easily

Where is the software?!
Good concept until you realize that you need an additional 80 bucks in software to get it to work. The phone didn't recognize what I had plugged in
