I didn't have the counter space or the money for a real trash compactor. This was a very good compromise, especially for the price. Works good to push trash down and compact. Pretty easy to clean too. I recommend this for anyone who needs to compact their trash without an actual trash compactor.

This is PERFECT for smashing and compacting trash in your existing trash can. There's a bonus, too, when my grandsons use it they yell "Hulk Smash" before compacting the trash. Laughter every time. It's also much more affordable than the cans with the compactor attached. Very easy to clean and stores on the side of the can. Highly recommend.

You need to have this critter, and to get compactor trash bags, strong bags for which this can be used, regularly. They cost about the same as store bags, but are strong. Nice for keeping garbage down between times you take it out.

I bought this item for a final packer of trash in the compactor. Perfectly sized, with the handle. However, the handle can't handle the pressure, broke off with first two uses.All is not lost as it works perfectly without the handle in the compactor.For manual trash can packing, I'm sure it will work great.
