I think having both with make this last longer as his appetite grows. We took to a play date and the other kid loved it too! The only downside—because of the design it’s a bit of work to take apart and clean.

A: The sandwich compartment is airtight but I would not say insulated.

**Q: Does the original spinner fit in the lunchbox spinner? So I can swap out the spinner part with the one I already have.**

Great concept - a go-to for traveling with our little one! I previously ordered just the rotating snack organizer and loved the functionality/quality, so was a bit disappointed when I ordered the set with the sandwich compartment and the latch on the rotating snack organizer would not close properly. You have to push it really hard to close and sometimes it pops back open. Otherwise, I would give it 5 stars.
