Aluminum has the desired trait of conducting heat much quicker than steel, making it the metal of choice in pans that require quick heating and cooling. The aluminum, used in these pans, is given a non-dye anodizing treatment that seals the pores that are naturally found in aluminum. The result is a smooth and very hard surface. This means that our bakeware is safer (no non-stick coating is required), releases cakes easily and makes clean-up a breeze! This superior pan will not rust, chip, peel or blister. CHEF'S TIPS: Expect all springform pans to leak a bit, especially if you're using a very light batter or a buttery cheesecake crust. Therefore, the wide outer lip on our Kitchen Knack pans is useful. Some cheesecake recipes call for a water bath. If you are worried about water seeping into your springform pan and leaking into the cheesecake, wrap the entire pan in foil before submerging in water. The base of our pan makes an attractive serving plate but, if preferred, you can line the base with parchment paper before you start baking. This way you can remove the springform sides and slide the parchment lined cake off the base and onto another serving plate. Springform pans can be quite versatile, making it easier to create not only baked goods, but frozen ones as well. All pans are recommended hand wash only.
