This bag is as good as all the on-line reviews say!
In the flesh it's slightly smaller than I was expecting, but fits in exactly the amount of kit Think Tank says it does. In the month I've now had it I'm very impressed by the bag, It looks good and the build quality feels excellent. The silent mode velcro feature is a bit of a cheeky claim as it really just means the bag does not fix closed but it is a very useful feature for quick access to your kit.The only negative for me would be the separate waterproof cover, it's awkward and not practical IMO but I was aware of this when i bought it and being waterproof was not one of my requirements. I've taken the cover out and don't bother with it thus freeing up a bit more space. There are plenty of waterproof bags out there if you want one.

The perfect shoulder bag
After a very long consideration I decided for this bag and I am indeed very satisfied. I fully meets my needs for my Sony A7IIr with 3 lenses + different accessories. It's not cheap, but it's good.

Fantastic walk-around day bag
Fantastic walk-around day bag, particularly for street photography. With a full bag however, it can get tiring after a few hours, so something to bear in mind - though this is an issue with shoulder bags in general, not this one in particular.

Not geeky, but function could be better
Think Tank Photo Retrospective 7 Pinestone Shoulder BagThink Tank Photo Retrospective 7 Black Shoulder BagThink Tank Photo Retrospective 7 Slate Blue Shoulder BagThink Tank Retrospective 5 Pinestone Shoulder Bag I found the Retrospective 5 well made but returned it as too small, to consider the `7 (for my Fuji XE-1 with 18-55, another lens or two and the usual accessories). I feel, the Retrospecive is by far the least geeky looking camera bag on the market. Only the following prevent 5 starts:If you are at all particular about your gear, the manufacturer's guidance as to what can be carried in it is optimistic and the padded dividers insufficient in number and versatility. Buy one size up and be prepared to buy more dividers and/ or improvise. IMO, the `5 looks a bit handbag like - which may suit, or not.Though the much vaunted `silencers' work, I'm not a fan of Velcro. I would like to see, perhaps in addition to the Velcro I'd leave silenced, a zip closure to the main compartment, under the flap, as with the Velcro silenced, your bag could fall over and let your precious gear go rolling into the gutter or, possibly, the light fingered reach in under the flap. I know there are many bags in the Think Tank range, some of which do include zip closure but they tend to be the more geeky designs or have no flap to casually cover the gear.Of alternatives, only the Billingham `5 & `7 ranges appear to feature `flap plus zip' and, oddly, a few others - Vanguard and Manfrotto - `zip in flap'. (I have a now too big Billingham 335 since the film era but want to escape the fisherman taking photos look.)Other makers too please note.(Be wary of the endless glowingly positive reviews on-line; US photo-bloggers are often on the Think Tank Photo direct link `kick-back' commission scheme. They are good bags but some objective criticism would help TTP develop better products.)
