Best Fire Pit Ever
I purchased this fire pit in April 2021. At the time, every other fire pit had reviews noting the metal rusting away within one to three years.I found the Ohio Flame and I'm delighted to report this will be the last fire pit you need to buy. It's made in the USA (yes, in Ohio) and made with thick steel. It has a lifetime warranty. It's heavy, 80lbs.We have been delighted with the beautiful design. (It also makes an awesome bell if you strike it just right...)It throws off heat evenly. We bought the 30 inch diameter and there is plenty of room for four to six adults to sit around and keep warm. (Be careful not to put your shoes on the base, it's hot!).I purchased a separate screen to cover the pit and would suggest one for any fire pit.Our Ohio Flame fire pit is now three years old and as solid as when it arrived. It is more expensive than the other brands. I thought it was worth the money to get a well made firepit. With a lifetime warranty, I don't need to save up money for a replacement. The only critique I have is that it takes a little effort to clean to the ashes. It's too heavy for me to lift, so I have to sweep the ashes out.I have recommended this to friends and family who are shopping for a wood burning fire pit

Utilitarian, well-made and designed, attractive.
This thing is the real deal. We love camping and campfires and wanted to be able to duplicate that in our backyard. Without seeing it in person, I was worried the 30" might be on the small side. Turns out 30" is plenty for what I was looking for and will easily house a hot, campfire ring sized fire with plenty of extra room to move around standard logs. I think most folks will find the to be a great size. It will start rusting right away with the slightest night time moisture, so expect that to be part of the aesthetic, although I find the simple utilitarian form, heavy steel, and rusting to be attractive. I would recommend sitting it on something to avoid a rust ring on your patio. On a flagstone patio a simple solution is to go to the landscape yard and buy a small piece of extra flagstone to put under the base. It's heavy; a strong person with awareness for back form could move this themselves, but otherwise move with two people. I was wondering about tipping and balance, but after seeing it in person it's not a concern. If you're looking for a simple, quality fire-pit this is a great choice.

Worth every penny!
We wanted something different for our firepit and I am so glad I came across this - worth every penny! It's big, it's beautiful, and it's really well made. Love that it's made in the USA.For those complaining about "rust" - it's not rust. Read the documentation that came with the pit. It's patina, not rust. Two entirely different things. We love the color!

Best fire pit ever. Lasts.
I love this fire pit. It has sat outside for 2.5 years now, and it still works and looks great (although now a brown color from some rust). We use it very frequently during spring, summer and fall. On average probably every other week.In addition to lasting even when sitting out in the rain, it looks great, and it's a joy to have a fire in. Unlike the no-smoke high-heat fire pits from solo, in this pit you actually see the flames and get the satisfaction of managing the fire by pushing around the logs as needed. I'm about to get the cooking grate from Ohio Flame to match the fire pit.

wow
This beast is hand made. Thick, stable, and sturdy. Nice welds and hole for drainage looks hand torched (adds character, not being "laser" cut). 30" was plenty big enough for 6-8 adults to sit around and keep warm on a 42 degree Michigan Fall evening. I was concerned that airflow under the wood without a grate or something on the bottom would be an issue, but it wasn't. I have never been great about cleaning out, covering, or storing my sub $100 fire pits in the past, so they always rust out and I am forces to purchase a new one every couple years. This will not be the case anymore. This thing will last decades and save me money in the long run. Added bonus, give a good tap the side of this pit (when it is empty) with your metal fire poker and you got a dinner bell that will rival your local church bell.

Everlasting and handsome looking fire pit.
This is an awesome fire pit!!! Heavy gauge metal that will last a life time. Gone through 3 of the cheap fire pits in the last 7 years now we have one that can be handed down from family to family. It is the perfect depth and width for our gatherings. It is also a beautiful piece of American art. Makes a great sound too when tapped with wood. If you are replacing a rusted out fire pit or your first fire pit I highly recommend you spend the extra money for this and be done with it.

Sturdy and unique
After our firepit rusted out after 3 years, I wanted something that would last. This firepit seems very well made. After 2 uses, it's developing a tarnished patina. We'll see if it starts to rust in a few weeks. It makes a "church bell sound" when hit on the side, so it's going to be our dinner bell signal. I bought a 24" steel grate from "steelfreaks" which fits perfectly. Making a fire was very easy and it's easy to clean. We got alot of compliments on it this weekend.

Wonderfully made.
Absolutely love it. We waffled due to the price and considered a less expensive model--but so glad we went with this one. Simple, beautiful design, kind of an industrial look. Extremely sturdy (in fact, it's not easy to move, takes 2 people, but we kind of rolled it on its rim and that worked ok.) It does develop superficial surface rust but that doesn't bother us- adds to the character. We set it directly on our concrete patio & it did cause a slight rust ring--but our patio is directly under an oak tree so it is stained by leaves and acorns anyhow--we figure rust marks just add a bit more industrial charm. If that freaks you out, put it on pavers. Functions perfectly as far as the fire goes. Shipped quickly & for free. Also love that it's made in the US! Icing on the cake. If you can afford it, go with this one.
