**Q: Why is there a lead warning label ?**
A: California Prop 65 label covers 910 chemicals at this time, not just lead.
So why do manufacturers use it? There is no penalty for posting an unnecessary warning sign. But there are thousands of attorney businesses built entirely on filing Prop 65 lawsuits on behalf of straw man plaintiffs. So why not just add the warning label, which the majority of customers ignore anyways.

**Q: Is this 100% stainless steel? Is there any kind of coating on it?**
A: 100% stainless steel.

**Q: does the plate have a lip that folds under at the edge or is there a clean cut on the edge?**
A: The upper edge of the rim of the plate is folded outward and crimped very tightly into what appears to be a ring around the outside upper edge.  It is crimped tightly enough that I wasn't sure if the ring was molded or folded until I looked at it under a magnifying glass.  It is crimped tightly enough that there is no seam into which gunk could accumulate, although it is possible that the seam was filled with solder or something similar.  My only complaint about this plate is that the STAINLESS STEEL stamp on the underside of the plate can be seen as a reverse image on the plate's upper surface.  Even though the reverse image can be seen on the plate's upper surface, the image  is not raised or etched; it's perfectly smooth and doesn't seem to affect its utility or interfere with cleaning it.

**Q: Does it measure more than 9 inches at the widest part across the top?**
A: Yes, I measure it at 9-3/16".
