I have a Maytag top loading washing machine. Use sparingly. It does not need a lot of detergent to clean clothes well. Does not have a strong fragrance which I prefer. A. Perkins **Q: how many loads will this launder?** A: It comes with a little measuring scoop. Usually I use less than a scoop and there are several scoops in each bag and it does look like it does the job. Reason I first started using it was that I have extremely sensitive skin and the doctor suggested I change the detergent I use, one without any phosphates and other skin irritants. So far this is working. I'm sure there are others out there that will work as well. Depending on why you are buying it, read the ingredients at the supermarket & do a web search on them. I found it a hair raising experience & I'm bald, to learn what poisons are in some of the leading brands. Like everything else however, you still need to shop the price.
