Q7S Bluetooth Speaker
After trawling through hundreds of reviews on bluetooth speakers I bought 2 of these as Christmas presents for my son and daughter ( both in their 20's) . We were all very impressed with the quality of the product and I ended up buying one as a Christmas present to myself.Aesthetically the product is very appealing, it's neat, feels solid and well built.Controls are easy to use and I found it very easy to pair with my i Phone. It comes with a charging lead and a 3.5mm audio lead for connection to non bluetooth enabled devices. It has 3 play modes, normal, vibration and a combined mode, the latter being by far the best, producing an excellent, rich sound that one would not expect from such a small device.A bit of experimentation is required as the device gives a different sound quality dependent upon the surface upon which it is placed. I am particularly impressed with the very strong bass response achieved by placing the speaker on a wooden floor although I'm not so sure my neighbour will agree. All in all an excellent product, very competitively priced.

A fantastic concept, with some caveats to be aware of
As an acoustic engineer, when I first saw this type of speaker I knew it wasn't a gimmick and would be able to deliver bass like no other portable speaker of the same size. The question was, would it sound good for music besides dance? Would the bass response be even?Roughly speaking, the larger the radiating surface area of a speaker, the more efficiently it radiates at low frequencies. This thing turns your whole table into a radiating surface. I bought mine from Amazon for £29.99, a fantastic price for a portable speaker. The depth of the bass it produces cannot be matched by other portable speakers of the same size and weight. For watching netflix then it is ideal. The mid-treble speakers sound very good. It does a good job of many dance genres. However, this is not an audiophile speaker. Every surface used will give the sound a different character. Finding a good surface can take a little experimenting, which is fun in its own right. A large, solidly built wooden table is usually fantastic for example. The speaker has controls to let you choose speakers, vibration, or speakers+vibration simultaneously. This is useful for late night music in flats for example - a table makes a very solid acoustic connection to the floor, which will turn the whole ceiling of the flat below into a radiating surface. In other words, this method of producing bass means that the bass really travels, which is a bit of a benefit and a problem.Where this speaker falls down is in max volume output. It isn't really loud enough for a party, whereas a UE Boom or JBL flip 4 (similar size to this) really really are. They are astonishingly loud compared to this, and their sound quality doesn't change depending on the surface used. The vibration put out by this speaker at max volume causes anything on the table to rattle and vibrate as loud as the music, spoiling the experience. The speaker almost gets to the point of upending itself. So the reasons they had to put a low volume limit on it are clear. On a future model I'd like to see volume-dependent eq that would allow the volume to be increased without increasing the bass level past the ridiculous level it already manages. UE, JBL and others already use this kind of EQ management in their speakers to prevent distortion at high levels. The other improvement I'd want is also in the high-mid speakers. Without the bass turned on, they are weak, and they don't go low enough to meet the bass unit, resulting in a gap in the spectrum, and weak mids. The speaker is weak at low-mids - a JBL flip 4, or UE boom blows it out of the water when it comes to midrange reproduction.Overall then, the speaker is best suited to films where low bass reproduction is important, or listening with just a few people as it won't go loud enough to have a party.

this was a great speaker, and I loved the design and the ...
Okay, so If I'm honest, this was a great speaker, and I loved the design and the speaker in Theory.I have previously used a 12w vibration speaker and wanted something similar with more power. The fact this had a mode that didn't just make use of vibration is what sold it for me,I received the speaker and it was well packed, and came with a cable, so I charged it up and gave it a whirl, it was about 4 times the size of my old one, so I was looking forward to using it.I was disappointed in all honestly. Now do not get me wrong, it's a great piece of kit, but for the price and what it appears to advertise, it just doesn't have the power. The sound quality itself was quite good really, but didn't sound very good unless you used the mixed mode. Obviously the speaker only mode seemed fairly high end, and flat, but this was balance out in the mixed mode by the vibration speaker. In vibration only mode, it just seemed too quiet, and even in the mixed mode, it was a lot quieter than I expected. In fact, my old 12w speaker was as on par for volume as this one, if not, louder.

Does not represent a premium quality speaker for the premium price you pay
Hi,I was stuck between whether to give 2 or 3 stars for this product, however due to the lack of contact I had from the company after contacting them I've decided to give it 2 stars.Don't get me wrong, this speaker is has a beautiful design and the sound quality is amazing.HOWEVER, in my opinion it is extremely quiet, the phone speaker is louder than this speaker. This speaker just has great quality, although it was not fit for purpose for me as I used it at home in my gym. Moreover, the bluetooth connectivity just appeared to be shocking. It was constantly being disconnected and interrupted throughout songs and it just delivered a poor experience. My reason for 2 stars is because this in regards to portable speakers this IS a significantly more expensive speaker. However it is not significantly better than cheaper portable speakers I have that are on a similar level sound quality wise and a lot louder.
