This is very useful as it allows you to be in control of splitting llogs and sicks unlike an axe where that can be quite dangerous in the wrong hands

I could not be without this as it makes life so much easier and making my own kindling has never been simpler.I have used an old axe head as a splitter for many many years so felt a bit of a wuss when considering this.I still use my faithful splitter when out in the woods or in our campervan but for my home fires and firepit, this tools is a must and i could not recommend it enough - get one, they are brilliant!!

Good, but screw holes positioned in awkward location for screwing into place

As described by the seller this tool is a great bit of kit for splitting logs it’s so easy to use I mounted mine on a big log to give it stability when using it.

Wanted to use it for splitting bigger logs for my woodburner, but the wouldn’t split and just got stuck on the device. So I use it now only for making kindling and can only do that by hitting a narrow part of the log and working along only the edges of logs and never the centre as you can’t break through the thicker part of a log. Certainly doesn’t work as shown on the promotional video.

Solid strong and sharp - bolted to a workbench its brilliant. Worth paying for the real thing. Makes cuting kindling a doddle and can handle big logs as well if you whack it enough times!

Only issue was the screws supplied to fix it to a base they were too short and the log splitter came 'loose' after a short period. Replaced with longer screws and fitted washers. Only used plain washers, will need to fit some spring washers if the problem reoccurs but fine for now.
