this is a great product... allows you to sidechain power into USB devices that aren't usually supported on iOS devices via the camera adapter--and all you have to do is plug an unpowered USB hub into the adapter first, and everything works... I don't even know what the ceiling is, as I've had a scarlett 2i2, a Korg microkey, and a keith mcmillen 12step all connected and working at the same time--it's pretty amazing. paired with an unpowered usb hub, it basically turns your iOS device into a legit USB machine

Good Quality Product
This was ordered to replace a cable on a piece of equipment I ordered elsewhere, that would not work. The cable I ordered replaced that cheap cable and worked like a champ. I wish it had arrived more quickly so I could rate 5 stars!

Did Not Work
I purchase the wires so that to DJ's could connect to and use my controller without a break in the music. The usb cable did not work. I lost money due to having to shut the music down and start again

So close, yet so far away.
I wasn't sure if it was going to do what I needed it to, so I didn't have my hopes up or anything...but I was still a bit disappointed. I bought this to hopefully power the DAC I was using with a computer so that I could hook up my OnePlus 3(which doesn't give it enough juice) to it with an adapter, but, while it charges/powers both the phone and the DAC, it doesn't recognize the DAC on the phone. It works for other uses, but it doesn't bridge the two devices. This may be the cables fault or the converter I was using from USB-A to C, but regardless. If anyone has another suggestion for cable, let me know.

The cable (USB "Y" cable) is exactly what was needed to power my external I/O Magic CD/DVD writer. The unit required two USB ports to provide reliable accurate power without having to resort to an external power source. Also the cable arrived a full two days ahead of the specified delivery date! Satisfied user.

Works well for external DVD burners that don't have a wall wart
I have an older slim 2.5in IDE DVD-/+ RW burner I salvaged from a dead ACER laptop, in which I put into an external housing, but the single end cable it came with, did not supply enough power, and it would not read/write DVD's very well, so I ordered this cable which came too me fast, and it does the trick, and now my drive works on all my netbooks/laptops that don't have a drive, for when I need to install a new Linux distro on them, etc.. So please before you buy this cable, make sure you know what it's for, and that the "RED" plug is for an extra 5V of power only, and will take up a 2nd USB port on your system, which can't be used with a USB hub, and has to be directly plugged into the system.

Great solution for laptop that did not have enough current on single USB port
I needed to drive an i1 Profiler from my Dell Laptop and a single USB port did not have enough current. I used this cable and it worked perfectly. This was sure cheaper than adding an external powered USB hub and much more portable!
