We expect it is much brighter. It's about as bright as the old one. We were very disappointed. We reached the seller and John patiently explained to us the difference. The old one is not led but it is a very efficient one. He then compares and points out the advantages and disadvantages of each. Once we understand, we know there is nothing wrong with the new light bulb. This fall we used 100W in our parking lot pole lights and 60W on our sign. All is well so far. We just tested 3ea of the 80W in our gym with 24’ ceilings. They seem to have as much output as the 250W HID they are replacing.
