You pay for what you get really apply’s here with this vacuum hose because indeed it doesn’t meet industrial standards for size, I wished I had read the reviews before purchasing.

This is a really nice hose made if a heavy gauge clear vinyl. More flexible than the standard 2 1/2 inch PVC vacuum hoses. Also takes up less space than the same size PVC hose. Clear is the way to go for a shop vac dust removal system and I have had no problem with static cling or concerns with puncturing.The biggest negative I have is that the hose is 2 1/2 inches but the inner and outer diameters are a bit larger than the industrial standard. I could not get this hose to connect to a female screw in hose end connector, nor could I fit a male end into it either. Had to use rubber hose end couplers even directly on the hose itself which leaves room for suction bypass. Only thing I could find that would fit was a male-male hose connector fitting that costs $10 a piece....making it more costly than other hoses for sale....

I made it work for my application, but if you need 2.5 inch ID, don't buy.
