Beware of using Bluetooth receivers with Windows
Firstly, this product works exactly as it says on the tin - very simple to set up and connect. Highly recommended if you have a simple input/output situation. This review is primarily for anyone trying to decide whether to go for a Bluetooth receiver or a Wifi receiver for streaming music from a Windows laptop. I chose this initially, but will now swap it for a Wifi receiver.Windows is perfectly capable of streaming music to this device. However, there's a serious problem with the way it automatically tries to separate different sound outputs for different programs. This can be very helpful - it means you could listen to music through your bluetooth speakers, while system sounds or noises from web browsing come through the laptop speakers.Unfortunately, there is no easy way to select which sound goes where. Windows seems to choose on the basis of first-come, first-served. So if you open your internet browser first and watch a video, you'll find the sound coming through the bluetooth speakers - then when you subsequently open itunes (or another media player), the sound will come through the laptop speakers.Once these priorities are assigned, it's very difficult to change them without restarting everything. Even worse, when I have managed to reassign itunes to the bluetooth speakers, I've found that it often starts transmitting in much lower sound quality. There's currently no way to fix this on Windows 10. I've looked around and there are some programs available that offer you specific control over which program's sound goes where. Unfortunately, the free one I tried didn't work, and other options are paid. I'm sure it's possible, but seems quite fiddly. In short, if you're looking to stream music from a laptop (while also using it for other functions), I think a wifi receiver is a better choice, because it can interface with iTunes' Airplay.

Works well with echo dot
I have tried other bt devices with echo dot. Problem with other devices is their 'auto-connect' feature. So if you try to disconnected the bt with alexa command, she does so, but the bt device asserts itself and re-establishes connection automaticaaly.Happy to report this does not do so, therefore I can connect and disconnect from voice commands. This product was for me to have behind the amp in my lounge and forget it was there. It has about 3 meters to cover from echo to bt device.Review: really surprised on quality of build, very solid and we'll designed. The button can turn on/ off device manually and manually pair.It has the ability to NFC connect with smart phone, however I don't really see this as a feature that would be useful links to me.Sound is really really good. I didn't think there would be a difference with bt sound recievers but comparing this to other devices there is a remarkable difference. They supply two adapters power adapters. Power is through mini USB. Two cables supplied. 1. 2 meter RCA to RCA and a 3.5mm to 3.5mm jack.Paid £19.99 however looks like they are gone and a more expensive price is there. Deff worth £20 maybe £30The only grumble I would say is the power led (white) is a little too bright.

Impressive Sound Quality (For Bluetooth)
I've always been sceptical about Bluetooth being good enough for music listening having heard so many bad examples. The thing that really annoys me is the digital noise that is sometimes present in the background (a kind of whining and ticking). There are all sorts of reasons for this, ground loops, poor filtering etc. but mainly just cheap design. The StreamPort Universal doesn't suffer from this at all. With no music playing (or between tracks) I can put my ear to the speaker and hear nothing but silence, no matter what power source I run it from. This goes to prove that good design can be achieved at a reasonable cost, and you get all the cables needed and also a mains adaptor too! This is the second one I've purchased, the first one being used as part of an 'open baffle Bluetooth speaker' project. I don't believe at present that Bluetooth can ever be as good as a wired connection but this comes pretty close, actually preserving a lot of the music without sucking the life out of it. Highly recommended!

I really want to like this device
Bayan Streamport: I really want to like this device. Build quality is good, sound quality is also very good....but it is by far the glitchiest bluetooth device i have come across. It is very, very annoying to such an extent i may decide to return it.For those interested, when the unit first receives power, it goes into standby. You need to press and hold the single button on its top for 2-3 seconds to enable it. For those considering a car installation, this will be an irritant.Bayan Audio, what is with this glitchy behaviour? It occurs with FLAC and other file formats at various bit rates.

I Love It, Make sure yours has...
This bluetooth audio receiver is fantastic. Any potential buyer should note that the sending device will need AptX also to take advantage of enhanced quality which is only avaliable when both devices are so equipped. The bluetooth is easy to pair. The device feels good and looks good. It runs off the mains via a small adapter with USB outlet. So far I've been unable to use NFC, thiis is probably me, because I have only tried in passing and the bluetooth is so easy! Packaging and service were all excellent. If your sending device has AptX, you won"t be disappointed, the sound pumps out of my Berringer 150W PA loud an clear, just like it did previously when hard wired. Good luck with yours...! Blue tooth is intermittent.
The design of the product is nice and the size of it is just about right, the only issue I have with this device is that it doesn't work very well with my iPad Pro, the suns cuts out a lot and goes silent for sometimes ten seconds at a time. It works well with my iPhone which is handy but I wanted to be able to pass my tablet around in a gathering or house party with Spotify on the screen so we can all add songs to the list but it won't work very well like that at all.
