Excellent piece of kit!
I bought this to replace a much older smaller winch with steel cable that I use stand alone (i.e. not attached to a vehicle) for forestry work - tree felling and extraction. This model is much more powerful, lighter and faster and has done everything I wanted with ease. The Dyneema rope is a must - much lighter, easier to use and much safer than the steel. The mounting for stand alone use is not that easy but a bit on ingenuity got it sorted.I did buy a big battery for it,100Ah 900A, with heavy duty quick release connectors and this means it has all the power it needs as it can draw up to 170A on full load and will only need charging occasionally.Altogether a great buy and impressed enough to buy the smaller model for use on my quad!

Brilliant winch
Went to buy a brand new one and noticed a line at the bottom of the write up stating that they have cosmetically damaged ones for sale at reduced cost. As this was to be fitted on a trailer for pulling small tractors and ride on mowers up the ramp, looks really didn’t matter. Took the plunge and ordered one. Arrived quickly. The only cosmetic damage I found was to the polystyrene packaging. Result. Everything was included as per the listing. Built a bespoke mounting bracket so it fitted my trailer and mounted it. The remote controls are fantastic. It pulls compact tractors up the trailer ramps with ease. It’s rated at 4500Lbs so tried it on my 1 ½ ton off roader. No problem at all. All powered from a spare 12 volt battery. So far this has been a fantastic buy. Powerful, easy to use and fantastic value for money. No hesitation in recommending this winch.

Good bit of kit
Installed this today to my trailer pretty straight forward it's got two controls that are fitted with battery's all the bits where as they should be a really long towing line I haven't used it yet but obviously have tested the unit all working so I'm happy.

Excellent winch with plenty of pulling power. Top notch customer service from Union Mart
Super winch. Well made and very powerful for its size. Easy to use with supplied remote control - these are the newer style and not the ones shown in the pictures on the listing. Dyneema rope is a real pleasure to use compared to rusty, tangle prone, thin wire rope. Have made the winch work hard for a couple of days and am very impressed with its performance. Only little hiccup was a failed solenoid on day two, however a quick call to Union Mart with a refreshingly quick telephone pick up, resulted in a new solenoid being delivered the next day. Customer service excellent.

Amazing value and quality
The media could not be loaded. I bought my Rhino winch in the Black Friday deals with about £20 off the usual price, I bought to mount on the back of my compact tractor as a forestry style winch for pulling trees over and timber about, I’ve not pulled anything yet but the remote and wired switch work perfectly, feels a solid well made winch, will see how it performs!! Hopefully I can upgrade to the big brother soon depending on how good a 2000kg pull is! Very good value and definitely get dyneema rope, I’ve used steel rope on many winches and fed up of getting my hands and fingers cut up plus it’s a light rope so easy to handle!!

surprisingly good
Really shocked at how effective this cheap little winch is, used it to pull a large shepherds hut onto my flat bed trailer and it managed it easily, when to be fair, I was expecting it to help but not take the whole weight. Have no doubt it would pull a small car or similar but may struggle with something that doesn't roll freely. Based on how good this little one is and how simple it was to set up I'm going to buy another for my quad bike and probably a bigger Rhino for heavy farm use.

Great Little Winch
Fitted this to the front of my Suzuki Jimny, despite the manufacturers warnings that it's not suitable for a motor vehicle, the Jimny is not that heavy around 2205 Ibs unladen, so this winch at 4500Ibs on paper is enough to pull it, with a snatch block it would double the pulling power to 9000Ibs which is the size of winch most serious offroad Jimny drivers would use, but with a winch that big some body mods have to be done to make one fit, I did not want to modify my Suzuki if I could help it and with the Rhino 4500 all I had to do was fit a winch plate and cut a small hole in the grill mesh, the winch is very small and I did wonder if it was man enough to to the job, but I tested it out and it worked, although not tested stuck in mud I did try pulling the Jimny with the handbrake on and me inside and it did without a snatch block (not on tar mac I might add) so should be good enough to get me out of a sticky situation should it happen. So any problems? yes one very minor one, and that was with one of the encapsulated nuts on the winch, it had tilted down at an angle in the casting so the bolt would not line up, simple fix though just needed to insert a small screw driver under the nut and just lift it up enough to insert the bolt bit fiddly but not hard, the wiring up was a doddle, every thing worked first time and I am pleased with how inconspicuous it looks now fitted. All in all quite a neat little winch with all you need to fit it.

All good it would appear but absolutely no mounting instructions
The product looks good but I haven't used it yet - my only problem is that there are no instructions how to mount it or any explanation as to how all the bolts and various fittings are put together - all I was given was instructions on wiring it together.
