Great for testing mash or for finished likker. JUST DONT DROP ANY OF IT!! Cylinder with shatter if dropped or if testers aren't gently placed inside, and testers will shatter into hundreds of pieces if even tapped on a counter. Beware the brittleness but don't think these are the only ones that do it, they all do. THIS IS A GREAT STARTER PACK AND WOULD RECOMMEND BUYING TWO KITS AT A TIME... Just in case.

Seems great but I'm really confused.
Ok just got these in mail. Seems good and when testing I used Burnett pink lemonade and the reading did not indicate any alcohol at all. So I thought great not working. Clearly marked was 35% abv. on vodka bottle and for a fact my buzz from drinking some- it is alcohol. Next I triedtesting Buffalo Trace 90 proof. It was deed on the meter. So maybe it will not read 35% but 45% was fine. So I tested some shine some one gave me. 55% for cut down heart and left over tails 15% abv. So it will read below 35% ABV. What give? Why will the Burnett not show any ABV actually off scale like water.Other than being confused. The product came a day early, was packaged great, and seems to be well made. Very excited but I'm just confused.

works well
The meter works well. Did a baseline test with vodka.It hit the 40% mark exactly (as stated on the bottle). Then moved on to maturing tequila, whiskey, and rum. I highly recommend.

Worked for about a month fine and then all of the sudden it stopped working
Worked for about a month fine and then all of the sudden the alcohol meter stopped working. No cracks or anything. It just stays at the bottom. After contacting an Amazon customer service representative they are replacing it even after the 30 day return window. I am a happy satisfied customer.

Great!
Came packed it two separate boxes, well padded. Checked it against grey goose vodka, right on. Perfect little set for us shade tree amateurs. For the money get two for backup.
