An escape from "round" laces
Why is it hiking boots and shoes always come with nice looking ROUND PROFILE laces that won't stay done up without a double knot or some mystery knot I can't master that my wife's granny swore by?For the last few years, I've been tying double knots in my Meindl walking shoelaces. I love the shoes in general so bought another identical pair online and these FLAT PROFILE laces to go with them. After several days of use, I have not once had to use any special knots to keep them done up. Just the usual bow.Phew!

I though these laces would be perfect for a pair of Mendl leather hill walking boots
I thought these laces would be perfect for a pair of Mendl leather hill walking boots, but they do not even fit through the eylets without shredding and destroying the threading top of the laces. I managed to thread through two of the eylets before they became impossible to thread any further. Upon contacting the company they couldn't care less, just told me to buy a different type of lace! Do not buy these if you have metal eylets in your boots, they are certainly not up to the job.

Good product..... one minor quibble
I bought these flat laces to replace the round ones in my walking boots as I have arthritic fingers and flat laces stay tied much more securely than the round variety. But I have found that the end of one of the laces has started to become detached from the "binding" at the end of the lace thus making it more difficult to insert the lace through the eye of the lace hole after cleaning the boot. I have used tape to effect a repair but feel this will not last too long.

Great ..
I didn't expect to find myself reviewing laces .. but these are rather special. I've replaced laces many times before for my walking shoes but never come across them made from a slightly stretchy material. The slight 'give' in these laces makes my shoes feel noticeably more secure and comfortable to wear .. previously I ofter tightened laces for rocky/uneven ground but do not need to do this with these laces. Knots show no signs of slipping. Excellent quality .. well pleased !

Quality flat laces but not 10mm Wide as described
Ordered for my inline skates, the length seems to be what I ordered however, they're not 10mm width, they're only 7mm. Very disappointed, the only reason I bought them was because I wanted flat/10mm wide laces.

Strong flat laces
I bought these as a replacement for some frayed round laces on a pair of walking boots. The boots have ankle hooks that are particularly difficult to loop the round laces through so I got these in the hope they would make the boots easier to tie and stay tied better. It worked.The laces are not as flat as I expected but they are well woven and nice and strong so I expect them to last well.

Substantial laces
The laces feel and are substantial. Unlike the laces supplied with my walking boots, I'm sure these will last.

Dump the round ones ge the flat ones :-)
Like a lot of people I've got fed up of round laces coming undone no matter how their tied. So have decided to go back to flat ones. Not disappointed. Fitted some to a pair of LaSportiva Nepals as the original laces seem to be coated in teflon and where always coming undone, problem solved.
