This is a very attractive "easy" gaiwan. For gong fun style brewinng, you might find it a bit large at 200ml, unless you plan to drink a lot of tea, or you have a second cup of your own to share with another person. It can also be a bit heavy, so you may need to hold it with both hands.It's quite easy to clean, just by washing it with water and dumping till all the leaves are out. A few leaves might get jammed in the filter, but I found them much easier to remove than it would be with a metal filter you typically find in teapots. You do need to be mindful of leaves jamming in the filter during a tea session, though, as they may block the water from pouring out. You can push them out with a toothpick.All things considered, I think it's an excellent gaiwan, as long as you're sure it's the right size for you

This is a perfect little single person "easy" gaiwan for someone who is just getting into gungfu tea brewing. Very easy to handle. Doesn't get too hot. Very heavy and thick. Large capacity. Could well brew for two people. Work I could but a second matching cup to do just that! I use this a lot when I'm brewing for myself. It's a very good deal for the price.

I read all of the reviews, both positive and negative. I purchased this because I am an avid tea drinker. I love having great traveling options for tea drinking as well.I adored the look of it online and had to purchase it.Here are the pros: Nice sturdy and heavy design. The porcelain was thick, smooth and feels good in the hand Beautiful design. The gold embellishment is lovely and the colors are rich Perfect size for brewing 5 grams of loose leaf tea.The cons: The biggest issue is the dribbling pour spout. It spatters verses pouring. This was a huge disappointment, plus it caused me to get burned on my hand from the splashing. Thankfully the water was not super hot. The lid was challenging to keep on the top when pouring it. This contributed to the hot water on my hands as well. The height of the vessel requires using two hands to pour. Even with this method, the dribble sputter spout makes it a challenge to pour.Perhaps I received a defective vessel. In any case this was the issue I had. Hopefully I am an exception to the rule.

This is a practical set, an easy way to do gong fu brewing for one without all the gadgets. It's good to have in the office or for traveling. My only complaint is that the capacity of the gaiwan is twice as much as the cup. If this is intended for one person, it should be the same capacity so the tea doesn't stew inside. An easy solution is to only fill it half way with water but it would be nicer if it was more compact.

The gaiwan was actually mailed to me cracked and unusable through Amazon. I contacted the company and they were wonderful. Sent me a new one, which came within a couple days. I love this modern gaiwan because it's easy to pour and strain without needing other tools. Perfect for a portable set to take to work

This is very nice teapot and it great for gong fu brewing and just for yourself the set is heavy and nice doesn't feel fragile at all if you are using small tea leaves some will get stuck in the top but it not a whole lot could be that I'm using a lot of leaf or to much water but I like how easy it is to pour you won't burn yourself or make a mess unless you miss the cup or pitcher then you have a mess

VERY easy to use, love that is has a lid to keep it warm. I use this every morning now and its a gorgeous well made piece worth the price for sure. Just wish the little bowl/cup on top held the entire contents of the small pot. But if I could find more of this type I would buy them. Strains my Pu-Erh tea very well. My favorite piece to use now.

Oh it is so beautiful! The box is great for traveling. Not the gaiwan itself. (Because of the material of course, place it in the box it would be fine) the top fits well and even so it will not slide when you pour.
