Need a bomb proof enclosure?
Look no further. I was a little skeptical on the stock enclosure and after breaking the stock by just inserting the prongs into an adapter, I wanted something more substantial. There is no hit I'm going to take that will take out this enclosure ... if it fails I won't be around to witness it. :-) I'm grateful to the reviewers that stripped out their mount screws. I feel bad for those guys, but it helped me to not over-tighten mine and use lock-tite rather than torque to secure the screws. Two minor downsides:- It's a bit heavy if that is a concern for you.- you may need some sort of prod to access the buttons.Other than that, I'm extremely happy

Cool aluminum finish with a sturdy structure
Cool aluminum finish with a sturdy structure. The piece that attaches to the bottom of the housing became loose after one "test" drop. Mitigated that issue by using some superglue to fix the screws in place. Since then, works great. Doesn't necessarily keep session 5 from over heating. But I also use mine as a dash cam of sorts, and the sun could be keeping it hot. Otherwise, I recommend this product!

It's good
The milling in the skrew holes isn't the best so expect to leave your camera in once it is in. I feel like taking the skrews in and out only a couple times and they won't stay in. I think I might actually super glue mine in so the stay right. With that being said you can still access all of the buttons and doors so that doesn't stop you from doing what you need to do. The thing looks great and its solid besides the bottom two screws on the back door.

Use Common Sense
Picks: looks great, fits great, all the right access ports in all the right places, its aluminumPans: flat head screws that hold the back plate on strip SUPER easy with the allen wrench, have to slightly pry (it takes little effort) the tongue n groove piece apart to get it to fit most GoPro style mounting systemsLook, it's a nice lil housing for your investment. I personally will add some thread locker (fluid) to the bottom mounting screws to prevent loosing/loosening them. Either get some nice stainless flathead screws for the back plate, or drill them out and re-tap a larger size. It's aluminum, easy to machine/fix/alter. Nothing is perfect, neither is this, but I believe it's great for my needs.ScottAction Sport Imaging

After about 5 crashes with the car (as the camera was mounted on the ground) I thought it best to get something more sturdy
I was inspired to get an aluminum frame after using my camera in a shoot for an RC car. After about 5 crashes with the car (as the camera was mounted on the ground) I thought it best to get something more sturdy. This thing will do the trick. It's not going to crack or snap like the cheap plastic kind. It does add some significant weight to the camera, so be wary about mounting it on loose mounts.

Great CNC work! May need some mounting modificatios though...
The fit and finish for my Session 5 is top notch. The mounting bracket may need a little spreading apart depending on what you're mounting it to. At first it only fit 1 of my 10 mounts. Then once I wedged a small pry bar between the mounts it fit everything. No big deal. I found pushing the menu button no harder than before it was in its stock cage. Go for it.

Worst replacement frame....
This is the most inconvenient replacement house I could possibly imagine. I purchased this metal frame after my factory plastic frame broke snowboarding. I purchased it right before my trip to Dominican Republic. For some reason the frame comes in two parts that you need to screw together (the piece on the bottom that secures the GoPro to its various attachments). I screwed it all together before I left. I go to use my GoPro on my trip and the screws have wiggled themselves loose. I screwed them back in with any thing I could find (loose change, the Allen key that came with it). The next time I go to use it they are loose again. This happened the entirety of my trip making my GoPro basically useless as it was wobbling around loose and almost fell completelyOff twice. Naturally I didn’t bring a philips heads screw driver on my trip. And there weren’t any hardware stores on the all inclusive resort. I found maintenance and had them really tighten it. Still managed to loosen up.In the end I had to hold my GoPro for every video and couldn’t use my pole. This was a HUGE inconvenience making this hands down the worst possible replacement frame. If it came as one solid piece this wouldn’t have been an issue.
