It has an esc that hooks up to the motor esc so when it revs up so does the sound. The sound is loud and sounds better under some covering. Highly recommend. Review: Used it in my Kyosho Blizzard snowcat to emulate the diesel engine. Does the job. Found out during the installation that there is no need to connect to the battery balancing plug. The power drawn from the ESC is sufficient to get the sound on. That actually is much better arrangement because the sound does not come on until one turns the RC model on.
