Doesn't really integrate; and couldn't get it to work
Sorely disappointed with this product - does not work as expected, and for me, in fact, did not work at all..This does not in any way integrate with the configuration on your hue hub or app. Instead, it has to be set up to directly control lights. This is done by putting the remote right next to each bulb and trying to pair it. The instructions seemed to suggest you could have 1 bulb on each of the 5 available "channels" on this remote; though the product description says you can have 4 bulbs on each of the 5 "channels" - i.e. 5 groups of 4..Well, aside from the poor instructions, I never got chance to try that feature, as i simply could not get the remote to pair with any of my bulbs - and I have over 40... ultimately, a complete waste of an evening, and even if it had worked, it really would not have been particularly useful (for my use case, which needs to control groups of 6 - 10 bulbs at a time)...Sent it back as not fit for purpose.

Works great with zigbee2mqtt and Home Assistant
Although some people have had issues with this remote and official apps, I had a good experience with this remote using the DIY approach of zigbee2mqtt and Home Assistant. With zigbee2mqtt, each of the selectable channels are given a unique value (under "action_group") which you can check for in your automations. The "Smart group" button also gives you a 6th channel. The only down sides are the buttons are not the greatest and the magnet for the mount could be stronger.

Works well with home assistant
After some fuss to reset the remote to factory defaults (think I ended up with a refurb/return) I managed to register it with zigbee2mqtt.The action_group variable depicts the group choice and starts at 145 (group 1) through 149 (group 5). 150 is the two bulb button. When buttons are pushed (I've only worked with on and off so far) a second mqtt message is sent straight after e.g.Nov 08 22:50:35 hass.3ke.uk npm[17965]: zigbee2mqtt:info 11/8/2019, 10:50:35 PM MQTT publish: topic 'zigbee2mqtt/remote_1', payload '{"linkquality":10,"action":"on","action_group":150}'Nov 08 22:50:35 hass.3ke.uk npm[17965]: zigbee2mqtt:info 11/8/2019, 10:50:35 PM MQTT publish: topic 'zigbee2mqtt/remote_1', payload '{"linkquality":10,"action":""}'This made the sensor entity a poor trigger for automation when a condition is used to match the action_group, as the action_group is likely empty by the time hass checks the state_attr.Instead the most reliable appears to be using mqtt automation as the trigger. My automation looks like so- id: remote_1_group alias: Bedroom lights trigger: - platform: mqtt topic: zigbee2mqtt/remote_1 condition: - condition: template value_template: > {{ trigger.payload_json.action_group == 150 and (trigger.payload_json.action == 'off' or trigger.payload_json.action == 'on') }} action: - service_template: "light.turn_{{trigger.payload_json.action }}" data: entity_id: - light.osram_3_light - light.osram_2_lightI hope this helps others in making the most of this great value remote.I've given it 4 stars out of 5 because the button feel is a little cheap and the factory reset took me a few hours to succeed.Once paired and working it has been fantastic.

DO NOT BUY THIS
Absolute trash. Does not work with Philips Hue despite the product and the Trust website specifically saying it does. I've been trying all night - and this is coming from someone who built their own smart switches for Hue/SmartThings with a £8 soldering iron a nodeMCU & £4 worth of electrical components (not pretty though!)Even the quality of the switch is bad. The buttons are looser than they should be, it gets finger prints easy, the battery is loose and I even had to put some tissue in the battery compartment to keep the battery connected better.GARBAGE. Get the official Hue one. Or Flic if you want to spend more.

A tremendous pain to pair
This was an absolutely pain in the bum to get it to pair correctly. I tried pairing it and resetting it about 30 times. Now that it's paired properly, it works great, but god forbid I end up having to pair again... I think I'll just buy a new switch.

Doesn't work with Hue, SmartThings and the magnets are in the wrong place!
This didn't work with my Hue bridge/bulbs despite a lot of persistence! Just didn't want to connect. From a read of translated German forums, it appears that this switch wants to act as a bridge in itself rather than as a device connecting to an existing bridge..I also tried to pair it with SmartThings, but again it wasn't even recognised as a device even when in the alleged 'pairing' mode.Another silly thing - the magnets on the back are in a different place to the 'normal' Hue recessed holder, so you can't use any existing mounts and have to use the supplied one. This means any of the custom made Hue remote holders aren't compatible!I'd avoid this at all costs! Returned without prejudice.

Not really Hue compatible
Not easy to add as Hue remote into Hue Gateway. It will remove Hue bulbs from software control if you add bulbs directly to the Remote Control. Terrible manual and support.
