Streetwise Madrid Map - Laminated City Center Street Map of Madrid, Spain Map – December 27, 2008

Another excellent Streetwise map. The Madrid map was invaluable when I was in Spain. Tough and laminated, the map is definitely up to the rigors of travel. Even with Google maps on my phone, I always carried this streetwise map around town with me. It's convenient, easy to read, easy to navigate, and rugged.

I purchased this for my niece who is studying abroad for her 3rd year of College. This map is very detailed in terms of streets and neighborhoods but also has important information about contacts and other necessities. The laminated map will never fray or tear and will serve her well for a while year

This map appears to be of good quality (durable), very good detail but still easy to read, includes the Metro lines and lists virtually all of the Madrid tourist attractions I found in the travel books (Fodors, Frommer, etc.). The map is considerably wider than it is tall. The dimensions are about 27 in. wide and about 8 in. tall. The northern half of the city is shown on on one side of the map and the southern half is shown on the other side.My only complaint is that, when switching from the north to the south or (south to north) sides, you can't just flip the map over vertically to find that continuing street. Instead you have to flip the map the long way (flip end to end instead of top to bottom). This may not seem like a big deal, but, for me at least, I find I am constantly flipping the map the wrong way and working a bit harder to find the street I was looking for.Interestingly, I also purchased a Streetwise map of Barcelona. The Barcelona map flips the logical way.

Wow -- the level of detail this map shows was a life-saver. I stayed in Madrid for ~ 1 week and was walking everywhere - no car. My AirBNB stay-over was on a tiny street that would not have been shown on most other maps.This was also useful for an overview of the rail system (does not show all the stops, but enough to find main intersections and stations). This map is compact enough that I could fit it inside a small purse, and it's very light as well.

Good map and great detail, although be very aware that this map does not have the entire city. It is solely focused in on central Madrid. My hotel was just above the northern point on the map, although still in the city of Madrid so the map was not useful.

I have always purchased the Streetwise maps but in preparing a trip to Spain I saw that the Rough Maps had great reviews. So I purchased a Streetwise map for Madrid and the Rough Guide to Barcelona. While the Rough Map had more information it was very difficult to use. The map grid coordinates were for two different sides of the map - a zoom-in side - so we were constantly flipping the map over and trying to figure out which side to use. We ditched the Rough Guide to Barcelona and went with the hotel map after the first day. We never went anywhere in Madrid without the Streetwise map - a case of less information being easier to use - at least for the part of the city where we went.

While many guide books have a "free" small paper map in back, buy the larger and more detailed and laminated Streetwise map. I took it every day and it was the map we referred to. While it is too large to easily fit in a pants pocket all day, I carried a small backpack (and was of course careful of pickpockets) with jacket, camera, etc., and it fit just fine in an outside pocket and was quickly available.

This was in good condition, but I did not expect a 1993 edition! The hotel list is badly outdated and it does not go beyond center city. If you plan to buy this, be smarter than I was and find out the publication date before you complete your order.

It's a map and did the job!Ideal if the weather is wet as its laminated, a little too big for pockets though

This gives fantastic relief for Plantar Fasciitis, I can walk normally as soon as I get up....best of all on offer

Would have liked to see map include more of the northeast of Madrid but in other respects very good.
