The farm Principality of Lucedio has a long history of almost nine centuries and covers an area of five hectares in a regional park. The entire production process is environmentally friendly: the packaging of products in protective atmosphere guarantees freshness and nutritional qualities.
Abbey Lucedio was founded in 1123 by Cistercian monks who reclaimed the territory by introducing the beginning of '400 - the first in Italy - the cultivation of rice. As time passed, thanks to its strategic geographical position along the Via Francigena, the Abbey became a thriving center of economic and political power: three were the Popes who visited.
Lucedio was also a reason for confrontation between Italian dynastic families: increased from the Gonzagas to the Savoy, the Abbey became property of Napoleon at the beginning '800.
