Steck-Vaughn GED: Student Edition Language Arts, Writing

I purchased this for my grandmother who never had the opportunity to finish high school because of past circumstances (i.e having kids too young) but the material is not very hard but I feel it still helps teach the fundamentals if the person has enough time throughout their respective days to work through the problems. Unfortunately she did not complete all her tests in a satisfactory manner in the time allotted (Fla GED standards are ridiculous) and she must begin again with the new standard but we are confident that she will do well this time with the new format and she is still using this book. I say 3 stars because of the lack of a section in each chapter that walks you through example problems in a way that the layman can understand. The book assumes you know certain material and it can be difficult to teach yourself using only the problems you have available. Anyways I can go on forever about the book but it does its job if you have a person who thoroughly understands the material, and I mean thoroughly. This goes for the entire current series of these books One last thing. I just graduated from FSU with a degree in Economics and there were a few problems that I had to think over for a minute. They, genuinely, stumped me and maybe that says something about my education but I think it says something about the books lol

Good book to study for ged

Overall I find this textbook very easy to use, it is very explanatory eg. if gives the users or reader a detailed explaination of why the chosen anwer is correct or incorrect.

This book will help students taking the GED. I over see a GED program and this book is phenomenal, 99% of students are happy and have stated that it has helped with the GED..
