Outstanding images. Perhaps Soell's finest work. Images merge the characteristics of glamour and art photography. The models are well above average in figure and traditional beauty. Most are outstanding body models and are on the curvier side. Soell apparently prefers ample breasts and generally excludes models below a full "C cup". Models are also of a more standard proportion than many fashion models who tend to longer legs, shorter torsos and very much above average height. These models could be considered the well above average girl next door. In other words, they are not the extraordinarily unusual Brazillian or European fashion models but they are beautiful and are obviously chosen for full breasts, round hips and beautiful faces.Soell's lighting is soft but revealing of definition and shape. His images are sharp, well defined and have good contrast and color saturation without having an overly saturated look.

Stefan Soell is one of the best photographers in the business. The women he finds to model are absolutely gorgeous and the lighting and poses are always great. I do prefer his landscape and nature backgrounds to the studio work, but the studio work is still top notch.

If you like nudes, this is as tastefully done as they come, and inspiring in its beautiful presentation.

Stefan Soell has become one of Europe's most highly acclaimed photographers of the nude. And his recent books Celestial Girls, Volcanic Girls, Urban Girls, have cemented his legacy as one of this generation's greats. He achieved near perfection shooting his models on location in the woods, on mountain tops, in their apartments. But he takes a turn here with Elysium Girls and captures everything in the studio. Every face, every strand of hair, every hanging busom, every prop is in perfect placement and ideally lit.His subjects are some of Europe's most beautiful women, young and shapely, and angelically pretty. This work is so erotic, so beautiful, so prefect - it is indeed heavenly.This might be Stefan Soell's masterpiece, his "Sgt. Pepper". His publisher, Edition Skylight certainly spared no expense - the gloss, the paper, the color, every aspect of quality is absolutely flawless. And it though it packs a punch at over 200 pages .. it still left me wanting more.

Stefan Soell proves once again why he is the absolute master of creatively displaying the perfect female form. I am a big fan of his work, owning five separate volumes as collectible works. This may be his finest.By my count there are 25 separate young women in this book. Each is stunningly beautiful and displayed in perfectly lit and posed conditions which flatter their personalities and body types. There are blondes, brunettes and even a stunning young woman of African descent.The fantasy element is a wonderful plus that no other photographer I’m aware of even attempts. Bravo to Mr. Soell and his creativity and execution. I’m sure all the setups, scheduling, travel, and post production (although it seems very minimal and superbly done) are very time consuming. This is definitely a professional presentation of beautiful women.I waited on this book for a couple months, buying it early directly from the publisher. I was not let down. Soell delivers again!So good I bought two copies. One to display and one to collect.

Beautiful pictures of attractive, healthy women. What more is there to say? Some are a little risque, but Soell never makes those pictures seem "dirty" to me. They are very comfortable in their own skin and they seem happy in front of the camera. No "deer in headlight" look like some photographers have on their models.

Ungeschminkte Frauen, unaufdringliche Farben. Schöne Körper- Sicher wurden hier und da mit Photoshop hautunreinheiten wegretouchiert, aber das stört hier nicht. Frauen dürfen auch durchaus mal Lächeln im Bildband, Bildakzente sind hier mit einfachen Gegenständen gesetzt. Die Bilder wirken harmonisch und man sieht sie gerne an. Der Titel des Buches trifft es auch ganz gut.

Un ouvrage à mi-chemin entre le nu artistique et le nu académique.Ces photographies sont réalisées en studio, le plus souvent devant un fond papier allant du noir jusqu'au blanc, en passant par différentes nuances colorées et de gris. Les poses sont intéressantes, la composition et la mise en scène s'avèrent épurées mais efficaces, la lumière toujours bien gérée. Par conséquent, je conseille sans hésiter cet ouvrage de Stefan Soell aux étudiants en photographie, ainsi qu'aux photographes amateurs ou professionnels souhaitant travailler le nu. Il sera en outre bienvenu dans les bibliothèques des clubs photo et des amateurs d'art.

'Elysium Girls' is an outstanding collection of Stefan Soell's latest and greatest works. It is difficult to believe that Stefan's work can get better than his already superior collections previous published, but it does. Stefan's vision and amazing photographic skills make this book a must have for any photographer, artist or one who appreciates the finest in photographic excellence. This book is definitely SIX Stars.
