Cannot rip sheet good without it

I cannot believe how fast this thing makes cutting down sheet goods. I have never had a track saw before, I just always used a circular saw with a straight edge clamped to the board. It took me. 5 minutes to figure out how to use this thing. I cut down 3 plywood sheets in 14 pieces in a fraction of the time I did before. I just measured and cut and moved on.I did both rip and cross cuts, and the cuts were smooth, with no tear out on the rips. I used a backer board aon the cross and very little tear out.The dust collection worked great too. Just attached a shop vac, though needed an adapter, and had very little cleanup after. The quality of the saw is just as good as any saw I have used. It didn't struggle once with any cut, just one smooth pass. No binding or bogging down.Would recommend to anyone who works with sheet goods!

Well worth the investment

Bought this whole system. To be honest I am cant I waited so long. This has saved me so much time and is amazingly accurate. No more hauling out table saw and wrestling with it to cut 4x8 sheets of ply. Do yourself a favor and buy the whole kit. You will not regret it. Don’t listen to the old grumpy guy saying you don’t need just clamp a board to it. The clamp set up and tracks are simply fantastic. I am now 2 years on it and it has paid for itself simply by being precise.Long review but I just love it and got grief for buying but glad I did

Great for making plunge cuts

If you have trouble making plunge cuts with a circular saw, you need one of these. This isn't the best tool out there, but I might never need it again. The dust collection sux. I knew that buying it from tool reviews I've watched. I made some cuts on ¾ inch plywood and it did pretty good. Some parts are made of plastic so it doesn't feel like a good, quality tool. But, it does work.Cuts pretty fast. I never force a saw through the wood I'm cutting. It actually made some pretty clean cuts with minimum tear out. Not the most powerful saw I've ever used. Take your time. The track works good. After the initial setup, it makes straight cuts. Another reason I bought this. The saw fits the track pretty good. Once again, plastic parts. The adjustments for the saw to track connections aren't the best. They do work, however. Another reason to slow down and let the saw do the work.Decent design. It's just a cheaper quality tool made for the DIYers out there. It's not a tool to make a living with.If you're just getting into woodworking and you're on a budget, this is a decent saw.

Excellent Price Point- Capable tool- Impressed!

I have to say , I got the package with 110 inch rails and the clamps, and it’s perfect… I was pleasantly surprised right out of the box… Yes, there’s a lot of plastic, but there’s also a lot of excellent engineering and design, and my first project impressed me quite a bit… Cutting pre-finished, white kitchen panels, into bite-size pieces, and the stock blade cut table saw clean..( see pics). One of the things I like about a track saw is that the saw doesn’t actually touch the material, so there’s no chance of scratching or scuffing the lacquer… Set up was simple, but maybe because I’ve been using a circular saw for 40 years… But this is a keeper and at this price point you can’t beat it. And I had just a small Shop Vac and it kept up with 95% of the dust… Impressed.

Capable Saw

This was really good, super easy to cut cookies with. Hard to fit in the kitchen sometimes and would scare the dogs though. I wish it had a more citrusy-scent to it as well.

Great for breaking down large sheets of plywood.

If your main use for this saw would be to break down sheets of plywood, this is the saw for you. I use this with it's companion track and am very pleased with the smoothness of cuts, even with the supplied blade. For those needing to do a lot of bevel cuts and thick hardwoods, it may not do the trick.

I knew from all the good reviews on here and YT it would be pretty good… BUT

Its actually WAY BETTER THAN THAT. I take it due to alot of the video reviews being 1-3 years old you will see a more two-toned “shop fox” looking style that they used to have. And for all the people that say ITS ALMOST ALL PLASTIC… uhh yeah. why do you think its not $600+ bare saw like a Festool?Trying to avoid buying replacement table saw for the one that finally croaked. I was gonna do anything to avoid shelling out 3-500 on small box that cant rip barely more than a foot either way with out upgrading or heavy customization. being that Track Saws altough have been around forever are actually the NEW IN THING…1st Attempt.. Kreg Acu Cut and Rip Cut using my ridgid gen5x cordless 7.25” I had been told its best even with the little reminder latch to pick a saw for that shoe and leave it in there… easy setup, cut the rubber make zero clearance (*well they say that but can having a full side open to the elements be zero closure? Meh) okay but tried all the FIXES and still too much slop (aka wobble while movingup and down track ) especially with harder materials, the rip cut pretty damn handy and alot easier to use but dont excpect to use either to rip sheet goods.2nd Attempt.. attempting to get no slop on the chop, maybe its the system? its not much but i dont want to re trim or cut every cut i do right? Thought hmmm this BORA NGX (the newest one) looks cool and even have jigsaw and router attachments to the track… WELL. TOOK BACK TO LOWES SAME DAY ENOUGH SAID.3rd Attempt… Evolution tools, 7.5” bi-cutting with 40” of track(seriously who the hell wants 40” guides? well everyone else expect here int the states I guess). Plenty of power great saw, but it really wasnt a track saw.. it was mearly a circ saw that came with a custom shoe for tracks. no locking, no scribing, plunge, etc..Final Attempt. this little devil! solid think plastic, several knobs for removing any slop, an anti kickback (can be removed, ussually its just a pain at first when you want to back up but you get the hang on flicking it, id leave it on ) easy no blade movement depth setup, you dont have to have the saw suspeneded to set your depth, and even an actual track locking device / BUT MAKE SURE WHEN YOU SET THE SAW ON THE TRACK YOU MUST FIRST HIT THE ANTI KICKBACK KNOB TO FULLY SEAT THE SAW THEN USE THE LOCKING KNOB.Last thoughts, just do it scaredy cat! You wont regret, especially if you havent used a track saw, so much safer than a table and way more versitle with a little setup, Use the pink foam insulation pads I use the 2” and cut one down to barely lip the 55” guide to use clamps if needed or if placing on a table. Then cut a long one for full sheet rips and viola. And if you want to be even cooler, like me, dont laugh…. just get the the NEWER WEN GUIDE RAILS way cheaper than a POWERTEC setup and the newer ones have attachent with screws but also have spacers that go on the front and back really no difference i actually like the wen ones better (i have both) but dig into the tax refund a little more and get the RUGGED TOOLS guide rail carry bag.. super welll made, matching color scheme and I use it to hold my manual and carbon brushes in zipper back and in zip front holds the wen clamps… HOPE THIS HELPS and BTW dont freaking compare this to a festool or anything like that because one is 900 with tracks and one is umm not.. Expect that its powerful enough to do what you neeed ( i did bog down just playing around ripping through two 3/4” MDFs stacked together about 3 feet into cut but let it sit and re enagaged but thats not a very normal cutting scenario i was just testing it. Cheers!
