What the hell is it saying? Is this thing being rude to me?
I'm not quite sure what to make of this bank. The ones I had seen videos of just "meowed" as they took the coin. The one I received says **something** but God-knows-what it says. Sounds like "Oops! smell OW! Or maybe "You smell OW!" no idea really, but the "meow" sound more like an exclamation of pain than the sound a cat makes. As others have noted, the box is mostly full of the bank mechanism and there is not a lot of room for coins. I have also found that it has a very hard time with large coins - British 50p, £1 & £2 coin seem too large/or thick for the mechanism to grasp. Mine actually ends up pushing 50p & £2 off the front of the box.Having said that, it is very cute but I think I will probably end up returning it as 1) I can't work out what it is "saying" but it sounds vaguely insulting and 2) it only accepts a limited range of UK coins.

Warning this is not a real cat.
Be aware that this is not a real cat, it meows like a real cat and looks a little like a real cat (although a cat without fluffy fur,) but when you try to get it to catch mice it is not good at all. Also when I decided to take it out of the box, so that I could feed it some milk, I discovered that it is simply a head, a paw and some cogs and plastic, there is no way it could climb a tree or chase a budgie.I now have a mouse problem and a case of un opened cat food.

It's so cute
Oh I absolutely adore this. I bought it for a friend for her birthday, although it's on my wishlist too. I already knew what it was and how it worked a while ago, so when the product arrived and the sheet it came with was in a completely different language, I was grateful that I knew already. The bank requires two AA batteries, and once you flip the switch to "on", you can place a coin on top of the fish bones. Press it down and the cat will appear, meow, and take the coin with it back into the box. At the bottom, there's also a twisting circle plug thing, which you use a coin to open - this is how you get your money out at the end. It's an adorable novelty "piggy" [more like kitty] bank, perfect for any cat lover. I do highly recommend this.

2nd time slightly fortunate
The 1st one I purchased was an out of box failure which was a major disappointment, Amazons returns policy to the rescue and they sent out a replacement. The second unit was sticky and eventually started to perform as expected. Wrapped up for xmas and gifted to my daughter yesterday as an early present... And it failed to do anything. 5 mins of tinkering, shaking, tapping and quietly swearing at it eventually coaxed some action and the desired result. It does not hold many coins and easily can become jammed. Ironically after about 10 mins of repetition you begin to wish it would break. Its a novelty and thats about it.

Does what it says...though somewhat grudgingly
I found on testing that this product could be a little temperamental. The batteries, when placed into the recess, seemed to have a loose connection and so it took a little wiggling to get the machine working reliably.Further, the cat had difficulty getting its money-grubbing paws on wide or thick coins - 10p and pound coins had a roughly 50% success rate.Having tested it I wouldn't pay over £10 again, but as it was bought as a gift for a niece, I'll be happy enough if she likes it.

I'd hoped that this would engage my cats as much ...
I'd hoped that this would engage my cats as much as my kids but unfortunately the cats are totally uninterested. Which is not the fault of the money box which functions perfectly well. My kids are still trying to engage the cats so are using it regularly, which means they are saving without really being aware of it, so goal achieved.

Money saving cat
Great product! So cute and easy to use. If you are like me then you will have all the intention of saving money, with this product you can save and with ease you can then get back the money that you have saved. This is a fun way of saving so why would you want to dip into this fund?

May be in Japanese but it sounds like it's saying doofus every time
Bought this for my cats after seeing a video online of the cat playing with it. No. Not my cats. They run a mile. So my partner uses it to save pound coins in. Not quite sure what it's saying however. May be in Japanese but it sounds like it's saying doofus every time. Hysterical.
