Very comfortable - NOT leather!
Halfwood recommend that those of us with wide feet should order a half-size higher than we normally would. I did so & was happy with the fit. With other shoes when I have ordered a larger size, the back has been too loose for them to be usable but these fit very well. Indeed, they are very comfortable to wear - and that's coming from someone whose feet are so wide they are virtually square, so rarely finds shoes which fit properly!Halfwood need to be clearer on what these shoes are made of, though. At the time of writing, Amazon's description says "These mens leather loafers is (sic) made of smooth faux leather" - if they're made of faux leather, they aren't leather loafers, guys. Moreover, upon opening the box, my poor nostrils were assaulted by an extremely powerful leathery smell. For the last few years, I have always bought non-leather shoes, boots & trainers - none of which have smelled anything like this. It gave the impression that they had been sprayed with something to make them smell that way.Nevertheless, I do like these shoes. They are comfortable, with good grips. I went for the brown & they are much lighter than brown shoes usually are, with quite a severe colour gradient between the dark tip on the toes & the rest of the shoe, which looks rather strange. So while brown are considered more stylish at the moment, I wish I had gone for the black. But for the price, they are nice shoes.

Well-made, nicely styled, comfortable. Legit quite impressed with this pair of faux-leather loafers.
These are one of the better pairs of Chinese-made shoes I have had the pleasure of trying. It is good to see things progress and whilst they don’t arrive in anything particularly sophisticated or high-end as far as packaging is concerned, when you first get the shoes out you do immediately notice that they are legit decent. They have a good overall feel to them, and they look pretty smart without coming across as brash or cheap. The weave-effect is quite nicely done and they have resisted the temptation to make it more pronounced. They are available in black, blue or tan. I went for the black which still retains a nice contrasting stripe on the sole which creates some visual lift. The pictures of the tan did put me off choosing that one as I think the hombre gradient is a bit too dramatic. The title states ‘leather’ which most UK buyers would take to mean real animal-hide leather, but they are in fact made of synthetic leather. Fortunately, it is quite a convincing synthetic leather which I don’t mind at all. The soles are a good rubber compound as well. For a price of c. £44 (at time of review) I think that is pretty reasonable for the apparent quality that you’re getting.

Well-Made Loafers
A nice pair of slip-on moccasin-style dress shoes. Sizing seems accurate, and, in my usual size, I found them to be a very good fit and quite comfortable. I opted for blue, which looks equally well with casual denim jeans or a formal navy-blue suit. Shoes seem sturdy and well-made; good craftsmanship and decent materials. Faux-leather, but look and feel good. Would’ve liked a shoe-box for storage, but the supplied drawstring bag is adequate.

Yet more shoes
As a dedicated vine voice, in recent times I have received no less than five pairs of fancy dress shoes, for the sake of a review. That is, dress shoes that are rather fancy. I'm not talking about shoes that would only work in the context of a "fancy dress" costume of Mahatma Gandhi, say, or Obi-Wan Kenobi. While this ensures plenty of variety for my feet, I am starting to slightly worry about what kind of impression might potentially be sent out to the world in the event of my death. Seeing as I have also reviewed no less than four pairs of steel toe capped trainers, the numbers of shoes are getting wildly out of control. Were Doreen and I to perish in adverse weather conditions (during an outing of the local nude hang-gliding society) I fear that reactions might be similar to what happened during the exposure of the wardrobe of Imelda Marcos or Eva Peron. Given the level of sheen to the exterior of the patent leather, anyone looking to sell off my belongings would receive an impression of a life tainted by the most decadent displays of affluence. Indeed, these shoes possess quite such shimmer, that people might suspect me to be a member of an exploitative aristocracy, even if I were to be found wearing them in some gutter- having overdosed on quat and methylated spirits. Considering my overall collection of footwear, my fear is that Andrew Lloyd Webber might even be called upon to produce a West End musical hit, regarding the extravagant life of an amazon reviewer and his extensive wardrobe of shoes. If Sir Keith Starmer were to successfully win the next election, my advice to him would be not to own more than three or four pairs of shoes of this quality. Otherwise, people would start to assume that his supposedly egalitarian policies have been secretly engineered to provide him with an unreasonable supply of luxurious footwear, rather than to serve the needs of the masses.

A beautifully crafted shoe but...
I'm sure that if you have a very slim foot then you will love this shoe - provided of course that its design suits your needs. As much as I love the shoe I was unable to put them on due to the gusset not being elasticated. I have a high instep and was not therefore able to get my foot into the shoe without the possibilty of causing damage to the shoe. What a shame. A truly nice, well crafted, shoe.
