Willow Weaving Paperback – 15 July 2004

Worth having as an idea generator. I read this book and immediately prepared some willow rings.(the basis of many of the scultptures). I then did a small project of a planter for spring bulbs. Using willow or dogwood I have continued to pop together rings and am able to take these "off the shelf" when I need to. Latest requierment was for a tepee to protect a newly planted clematis. Using the basic concept and marrying it with traditional living willow sculpture, I planned and executed a medium sized dog. I can' t wait for the willow to grow so that I can get weaving and see what kind of dog I am making !

interesting

Not quite what I was hoping for. I am a novice weaver (went on a day course and came out with knowledge of how to make dragonflies and lanterns) so wanted more ideas along similar lines. Most of the things to make seemed to involve buying extra items eg legs for birds, metal frames for display baskets, rocker for a horse etc which I felt defeated the object of natural willow weaving. I would have liked a little more basic information on how to fill in a 3d body shape. That said, I have made a butterfly and it is not too bad although quite a faff. I don't think I will be making anything else from this book.

Interesting read

I bought this as a present for a uni student who was looking into weaving willow. Having looked through it myself I felt it was clear to follow and will be borrowing it back to have a go myself.

very nice book, good for the beginer as it has some simple but nice looking projects to do.would recommend to beginers for good ideas to start on.

I bought it to introduce myself to the craft, some nice little projects, but I needed more basket work, still useful.
