Mitch Rapp still rocks!
I was so looking forward to this book and I did enjoy it but I think Mitch Rapp has become a bit distant. He of course has always been completely focused on the eradication of terrorists and their puppet masters but somewhere I felt the essence of his personality is diminished. However, this is still a page turner with Rapp thinking and acting with all the precision we expect. His present squeeze has an operational roll but she did stray into the area of trying to dissuade him from some of his engagements. Dump her Mitch! The story focuses on Saudi Arabia and an attempt by the head of the security section to join forces with ISIS and seize power when the aging king dies. The deals done for political reasons are anathema to Rapp and drives him forward in his determination to win at all costs.

Rapp is back
Mitch Rapp is asked to go “off the books” to investigate a threat to the US. The source seems to be the Saudi’s but is it sanctioned by their frail King, or is it something more sinister? Rapp pulls together a bit of a new team, including his new squeeze, and goes rogue. This was okay, but seemed to be missing something. Rapp as a character is a bull in a china shop, charging in with an utter force of nature. In this there are frequent mentions that people are terrified of him, but in his actions he just comes over as a typical black ops agent. It’s okay but just doesn’t have that force of personality that we would expect.

Great escapism.
Addicted to these books. Spies, evil, politicians, loneliness, justice, loyalty the list goes on. Maybe not a literary masterpiece but the sort of book and books you can curl up with and escape to a world very different from the one most of us inhabit. Rapp represents the modern day American hero. He is different from everyone has his own demons and motivation for what he does but underlying this is a strong sense of what is right albeit from where he is coming from. I will be reading every book.

Memories for Vince.
I enjoyed the book and having read all of the original Vince books, I would have great difficulty in identifying this book from one of his. However, and maybe imagination, I seem to feel there it lacks a little of the structure those original books had. That being said, I look forward to any future one!

Mitch Rapp at his best
Doing what he does best, Mitch continues to excite. Full of action with a great crew of accomplices. All believable but a bit of a weak ending. Still, looking forward to more of the same

Kyle Mills is getting better. What a difficult job he has had replacing Vince Flynn, but Mitch Rapp continues and the seam between writers is fading.Good book

Great book. While Vince Flynn is very sadly missed
Great book. While Vince Flynn is very sadly missed, Kyle Mills certainly does a good job of writing Mitch Rapp. Maybe slightly more PC than before and he seems to have developed patience where previously none existed but better than not having Rapp in my stories anymore!
