Effective fire steel for one-hand operation. With the striker, which is embedded directly in the handle, a small part of the ferrocium rod will be scraped off with a squeeze of the handle and and a quick thrust of the striker, which ignites the scrapings by friction. The resulting sparks burn up to 2000°C hot and ignite almost any tinder. The fire steel has the advantage of not beeing affected by moisture or thin air and/or cold in their function. Due to the one-handed operation of this fire steel, its ideal for a survivalkit. We recommend, due to the size of the fire steel, to use it with premade, prepared tinder, such as cotton wool saturated with petroleum jelly or cotton wool with wax.
