I have never had a Hue so can't compare but as this is less than half the price I a happy with it so far. It took a little time to pair but now it's done the app is easy to use (Smart Life) and works with Google Assist so links with all my other smart home stuff. Maybe the Hue has more subtle changes in colour - but would you really notice? Certainly this has a wide variety and pure white too.

I've started using smart plugs and bulbs in my home. Bought this while on offer. I mistakenly bought bayonette when I needed ES. Although it works and works well, the dimentions of the bulb are too big for any of the fittings I wanted it for. Not the fault of the product, just how it is.Lots of different colours and although I have had to pair it to my wifi the second way rather than the way the instructions advise, this seems to be the case with every bulb and plug for my set-up.

I gave this bulb 3 stars because the light I bought the bulb for can’t be used. The bottom of the bulb is thick so it doesn’t fit into the lamp - so I’ve used it in a small side lamp instead of the hall light that I bought it for. Other than that it works fine - but the advert should’ve stated that the neck or barrel of the bulb is thicker than a standard bulb.

Bit of fun changing colours and dimming lights. Also good as a light to switch on and off when away from home. I'm using with Google home. Wish it was a bit brighter for daytime use and dimmed a lower white for the evening though.

I had to connect to my wifi reapeter it wouldn't connect to primary wifi as would only connect to 2.5ghz.But strangely it my echo dot found it straight away and is working great

Initially gave it a crap review as I could not register the device. Worked out that this is just the apple App Store being useless and not showing the correct SmartLife app. If you google it and then open in the App Store your device works a dream!

I found it difficult to set up and get working initially, but once installed it works ok. It is difficult to change colour via voice control, much easier to use the app. It's also pretty dim even at its brightest so not ideal for an area you need well lit.

Good quality and easy to use.The basic "white" light is nice and bright, however the brightness when using a colours is not as bright as I'd hoped. Might be more suited to a lamp than a room light.
