Didn't use the stock cooler opted for a duel 120mm fan tower which keeps it nice and cool idles at a nice 10c and around 30c to 35c under load. I was going to get the 8 core but the prices just went to high for my budget and I wanted to get my new build up and running rather than wait until they come down again. It over clocks with ease. I've had it up to 4.5-4.6 and let it run for a few hours gaming and was pleasently surprised to find it was keeping nice and cool. I suppose I could crank it up a bit more but I'm happy as it is. It's more than capable of handling most computing tasks out there and is incredibly modestly priced. The AM3+ socket is on many great, modern motherboards giving you an excellent option and variety in that end too. My only real gripe with this product is the stock fan included with it. It's sufficient for the CPU if you're not planning on overclocking it (Mine never exceeds 50oC on heavy load), but it does get very loud when under heavy load.
