Very happy with this! The leather is soft and has this beautiful worn look to it. Others have mentioned that it has a chemical odor but the one I received did not. It had a light leather smell which was pleasant. The pages are just as beautiful as the cover. I am not sure what writing utensil I will use just yet. There isn't a thing I don't like about it. I will be using this as a journal when I am out on a hike, can't wait. The color in the pictures did not come out as well as I hoped. The brown looks better in person. Nice craftmanship.

I am in love with this, I am giving one as a gift for all 3 of my kids. The leather is perfect, and beautiful. I am using it to write my story, and it function of the parchment adds the perfect touch for my story as it is set in the 15th century. I brought it as a gift to myself, it's the perfect gift for people who love to write old fashion.

Beautiful Buffalo hide outside w/ handmade paper made with non- paper pulp! Pages are deckled on edges and old looking. Many pages for use inside and they take different inks. I haven't tried yet but supposed to also support some paints. The clasp looks antique also and latches the beautiful book closed. Very unique, meaningful gift to give too

This journal is so special. It's handmade by folks in India. The paper was made out of cotten and other ingredients. When I opened my journal I could smell the leather. It appears just like the photo. It looks like a book from years ago. I'm going to write about special things and memories including photos. I bought 2 for giftsand 1 for myself. Everyone loves it.

The watercolor sketchbook came packaged well and on time. It’s beautiful and well stitched. The pages are soft and durable. The color on the pages are not all the same, but I’m ok with that. Gives it character. It held up well to watercolor wet on dry technique without bleeding through. I just tried a heavier wash. It didn’t allow for much bleeding of colors as it soaks into the paper. It also carried some pigment through to the next page. I’m quite satisfied with the results I had with my first paintings wet on dry. Writing on it with my micron pen was quite smooth too. If you want to give it a go, but aren’t sure, snap it up when it goes on sale. Just know that wet on wet and heavier wash techniques aren’t well suited for this paper.

So I’m a big snob for vintage style leather notebooks and I LOVED the texture of the paper for this one. Color was perfect, and it even comes with a clasp! I can’t wait to fill this up with writing ideas. Plus it was super worth the price, my friends all guess this book was worth hundreds of dollars.But… there was a live bug inside of it 😂 flipping open the pages I found this little guy inside of it. I guess there’s a small chance you’ll find one of these purchasing these notebooks lolOther than that love this!

This is a beautiful journal. The pages are high quality and look aged just as in the pictures. The journal even smells like it is old if you know what I mean. I gave it as a gift to my daughter and she loved it. She has had many compliments in how “cool” it is. Would definitely get again. Makes a great gift.

I bought the largest brown leather journal for our recent trip overseas. I loved the images and hoped it would be, at least, as nice as the photographs. When it arrived, it EXCEEDED all my expectations! The lovely construction of the book, the beautiful leather, the thick hand made pages all bound with straps looked like it had leapt across centuries to arrive at my front door. I was immediately reminded of leather-bound manuscripts I’d seen in the Bodliean/Ashmolean Library at Oxford. The price was WELL worth it and it will protect cherish the memories in a way it will be handed down as a family heirloom! I will be back to purchase again. (Side note: I do think the metal locking mechanism on the leather binding strap was sewn on upside down. The clasp does not stay closed)
