Works great!
Just what I needed to attach 3 USB blinking stars to one timed power source. This is working as I am typing!As far as I know, this only routes without it using any actual power. This weighs only a couple(?) of ounces and lays on the floor under the window where the stars are blinking. Each star only needs to be plugged into it once for the season of use. When the one timed power source activates, each star is always ON, but each star has its own repeating rythum.

Get one with a power supply.
I ordered one I bought two weeks ago, and a different one showed up. And ......... it definitely needs the power supply, which when I searched for one, all I saw were other USB splitters with a power supply included. I'm very disappointed, but the packaging has already been disposed of, and it was only $8. But it's useless.

Wonderful USB hub where you can adjust which plug in device you wish to access while keeping them all plugged in. I would not advice using more than two devices at a time that would draw more current to use, which will then slow down your transfer of data

you CAN plug a power supply into it ! (limits yet unanalyzed)
It's a cheap (US$7.99) 7-port USB hub; whaddaya want? :) I noticed there's a small coaxial power receptacle on the side where the USB cable is. I tried a 3mm OD connector in it (center-positive) to a 5V power supply. Success!Haven't cracked the case yet to see if there is any overload protection per-port (or overall) so I'd limit any requirements to the standard 500ma max per port (and do remember: the port you plug the box into MAY just have a 500ma limit).The individual switches for each port can be a boon IF you are power-limited (only using the power through the comms cable). I didn't rate it higher because it WOULD have been better to have the more-popular 5.5x2.1mm coaxial connector.It didn't change my life, but I like it, and recommend it. I'll probably buy another for the laptop (the reviewed unit will be on my desktop).
